DeRozan finishing on high note : Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan was once again able to light up the scoreboard during Tuesday's contest against the Hawks. DeRozan, who was averaging 17.9 points on the year entering the contest, dropped 30 on Atlanta in the 113-96 win. He went 11 of 17 from the field, including 3 of 5 from downtown, and also added one rebound and one assist to his stat line, while logging 28 minutes of game action. (Updated 4/17/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
DeRozan has now scored 30-plus points in each of his last two contests as he seems determined to end this season on a high note. His latest performance has him averaging a career-best 18 points per game on the year, his rebounding and assist numbers have remained minimal. While there is no doubt DeRozan can score, he will need to develop more of an all-around game if he is ever going to push himself into the top tier of Fantasy guards. Still, owners should plan on spending a mid-round pick on the 23-year-old in most draft formats next season. (Updated 4/17/13). |
| DeMar DeRozan seemed to plateau in his third season, as he averaged 16.7 points per game with 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists. Those numbers are essentially the same as his previous season, and his lack of a consistent jump shot seems to be harming his development. At this point, he is a one-dimensional scorer who needs to get to the rim to convert successfully. An improvement in the team's point guard play may open things up for him, but at this point, we have to assume DeRozan is who he is. That makes him more of a mid-range Fantasy option at the guard position, but one still worth selection in the middle rounds on Draft Day. (Updated 8/21/12) |
