|Report: Jodie Meeks lands three-year deal with Detroit |
|by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com|
(7/1/14) Fresh off a high-scoring season with the Lakers, free agent guard Jodie Meeks has just secured a three-year deal worth at least $19 million, according to Yahoo Sports.
Meeks enjoyed a career year under Mike D'antoni, averaging 15.7 points per game on 40 percent shooting from three. This could mean the Pistons will watch guard Rodney Stuckey walk away in free agency.

(2/18/14) Lakers guard Jodie Meeks will return to game action Wednesday against the Rockets, the team announced.
Meeks has played just one minute in February due to a sprained ankle, but he'll resume his regular role after a few weeks of rest. He has averaged 14.4 points and 2.8 rebounds over 48 games played.
|Jodie Meeks probably out until after break |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(2/8/14) Lakers guard Jodie Meeks has already missed two games and a part of a third with an ankle injury, and he will need to sit out at least a few more before he is ready to return. Coach Mike D'Antoni told the Los Angeles Times Saturday he expects Meeks to be out until after the All-Star break, so the injury is likely to cost him at least five games total.
|The Pistons bought Jodie Meeks' services for a hefty price early in free agency, which would indicate they plan to use him, but it will be an uphill climb for Meeks to achieve the numbers he put up in Mike D'antoni's bombs-away offense. One might assume Stan Van Gundy plans to use him the same way he did J.J. Redick, which could make for a fun season. But Meeks' peak value last season came when the Lakers were without ball handlers and relied on Meeks to distribute as well as score. His volume three-point shooting will carry more value in Rotisserie formats, but otherwise consider Meeks a low-end guard capable of putting up large scoring totals every once in a while. Don't reach for him until the late rounds in points leagues and mid-to-late in Rotisserie.
