Young makes brief first impression: Sixers forward Sam Young didnt have much time to get settled in his new surroundings before being to contribute, as the Sixers turned to him on Friday, one day after he was acquired from Memphis. The Sixers didnt ask for much from him on Friday against the Heat, as Young played just two minutes in the game. He scored just one point on a free throw while missing his only field-goal attempt. He also grabbed one rebound, as the Sixers lost, 84-78. (Updated 03/16/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Young was acquired on Thursday by the Sixers in a straight salary dump from the Grizzlies. Young has appeared in just 21 games, averaging 11.4 minutes and 3.5 points per game. It is unlikely that he will see much more time than that with the Sixers, as they likely only went to him on Friday because they were missing Spencer Hawes. He will likely remain just a reserve, making him unworthy of a roster spot in most Fantasy formats. (Updated 03/16/2012).
01/31/2012 23:24 Grizzlies win after rallying to force OT
O.J. Mayo scored 18 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 35 seconds left in overtime, as the Memphis Grizzlies snapped a four-game losing streak with a 100-97 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.
Thanks to a slow start by O.J. Mayo last season, Sam Young was given the opportunity to start 46 games in his second NBA season. The results were unimpressive. In fact, Young actually averaged less scoring per game than he did as a rookie despite playing nearly five more minutes per game. His shot attempts did not increase and Young did little to distinguish himself as a player with significant upside. Very likely to return to a bench role this upcoming season, Young will not be worth drafting in most Fantasy formats. (Updated 8/28/11)
