Aminu heads to the market: Hornets forward Al-Farouq Aminu so thoroughly disappointed through the first three years of his rookie contract, the team opted not to pick up his option for next season. That leaves him as an unrestricted free agent this offseason, coming off his most successful season to date. Aminu transformed himself into an elite rebounder from the small forward position, bringing in 7.7 points per game to go with 7.3 points per game. Both of those numbers represented the best marks of his career, along with a career-high 27.2 minutes per game.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Aminu's offensive game remains painfully limited, as he is too poor of a shooter to stretch the floor and too small to play power forward consistently. His rebounding ability made him useful for stretches in some Fantasy formats last season, but his anemic offensive game is still holding him back. Aminu will be just 23 years old when the season begins, so some team will take a flier on his upside. He is still most likely going to be more of a late-round Fantasy option in deeper formats, on Draft Day.

Kobe goes for 42, helps Lakers erase 25-point deficit
Kobe Bryant scored 13 of his 42 points during a 20-0 run in the last 6:22 of the fourth quarter, and the Los Angeles Lakers overcame a 25-point deficit to fend off the New Orleans Hornets, 108-102 on Wednesday night.

| Al-Farouq Aminu was an important piece for the Hornets in 2011-12 as he was asked to start in place of Trevor Ariza at times. In fact, Aminu started 21 games and played in 66 as he averaged 6.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and an assist and steal per game. It could be more of the same for Aminu heading into the 2012-13 season considering the Hornets traded Ariza to the Wizards. Aminu might have to battle youngster Austin Rivers for playing time, but at least at first should have a leg up in that battle. We expect Aminu should put up numbers to make him viable in deeper Fantasy formats. He won't be a necessity in 10- and 12-team category-based leagues, but will have some sleeper appeal.
