Davis to see a boost?: With center Marc Gasol out indefinitely with an abdomen injury, center Ed Davis is expected to see a boost in playing time. Davis, who has averaged 14.8 minutes during his 25 games with Memphis, has logged 41 minutes over his past two games, including 23 during Monday's loss to the Wizards. Davis finished with nine points and seven rebounds in the 107-94 defeat. (Updated 3/26/13) |

Most expected Davis to take over the starting center position in Gasol's absence, but he was actually brought off the bench Monday night. However, he still saw 20-plus minutes, which should continue no matter whether he starts or continues to come off the pine. Davis is averaging 10 points and 7.6 rebounds when he logs 20-29 minutes per game, so owners looking for some low-end help at center over the next few weeks, should consider taking a flier on the 23-year-old. Grizzlies stay alive to host first-round series
Keyon Dooling scored 13 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer before consecutive baskets by Ed Davis, and the Memphis Grizzlies rallied to keep alive their chance of hosting a first-round playoff series with a 103-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.

| Ed Davis followed up a promising rookie season with something of a regression as a sophomore as his scoring fell to 6.3 points per game. The biggest issue for Davis is that he is one of a number of similar players for the Raptors, none whom has been able to stand out. He has the skills to average a double-double with full-time minutes, but those minutes are simply never going to be there with the current state of the roster. He seems forever consigned to 25-minute per game limbo as long as he is in Toronto. Still just 23, he is due for some natural improvement, but unless he can stand out from the crowd, Davis remains more of a reserve Fantasy option, left for the last rounds of most draft.
