George named NBA's Most Improved Player : Pacers forward Paul George was named the NBA's Most Improved Player Award, the league announced Tuesday. George received 52 of 120 first-place votes and 311 points, more than double the total of New Orleans' Greivis Vasquez, who had 13 first-place votes and 146 points. Milwaukee's Larry Sanders was third with 141 points and was one of three players to receive 10 first-place votes. "With the physical talent he has, with the drive he has, there's no ceiling for him," coach Frank Vogel said. (Updated 4/23/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
George averaged 17.4 points and 7.6 rebounds this season, both career highs, and was the only player in the league with at least 140 steals and 50 blocks. However, he did shoot a career-worst 41.9 percent on the season, but especially struggled down the stretch. In fact, George connected on just 36 percent of his shots over his last 10 games of the regular season and it appears his shooting struggles have followed him into the postseason. Despite his recent struggles, George was outstanding regular season. He averaged 32.9 Fantasy points per week in all standard leagues while finishing as the third-highest scoring guard, in terms of Fantasy points, in all Rotisserie formats. Fantasy owners should plan on drafting George in the early rounds of all draft formats next fall. (Updated 4/23/13). |
| The 22-year-old Paul George came into his own last season for the Pacers. He made 66 starts and averaged nearly 30 minutes per game as he scored 12.1 points, grabbed 5.6 rebounds and dished out 2.4 assists while nailing almost 1.5 3-pointers per night. Add 1.6 steals per game into the equation and George became a very solid all-around contributor, especially in category-based Fantasy leagues. George's role with the Pacers should only continue to grow heading into the 2012-13 season. He should be considered a viable Fantasy option in all formats to be taken beginning in the later rounds. In fact, the former Fresno State standout could end up being a steal for you on Draft Day. (Updated 8/22/12) |
