Wiz shut Crawford down: With just two games remaining and guard Jordan Crawford suffering through a sprained ankle, the Wizards have decided to end Crawfords season. Crawford told the Washington Post after his last game against Charlotte, that he would keep playing through the injury, however coach Randy Wittman said on Wednesday that he was not responding to treatment and would not play again. End of the Charlotte game, he was laboring a little bit. So hes tried to gut it out through whatever it is, Wittman said. I appreciate that and its just not conducive for him to be laboring at this point, so were going to hold him out. (Updated 04/25/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Crawford improved in his second season in the league, increasing his per game averages to 14.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.0 assist in 64 games, and was especially impressive in the second half of the season after the trade that sent Nick Young to Los Angeles. In 31 games after the All-Star break, Crawford averaged 17.0 points on 30.9 minutes per game, both increases over the first half of the season. Crawford remains under contract for next season, so he will likely return as the teams unquestioned starter next to John Wall, so Fantasy owners should expect similar production, making him a middle-to-late round selection on Draft Day. 04/13/2012 22:05 Knicks continue playoff push, pound Wiz

04/10/2012 21:38 Seraphin fuels Wizards past Magic

04/02/2012 22:24 Bucks top Wizards, continue playoff push
Brandon Jennings scored 17 of his 19 points in the third quarter and the Milwaukee Bucks pulled within two games of the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot Monday night with an unsightly 112-98 win over the Washington Wizards.
Washington knew what they were doing when they traded Kirk Hinrich to Atlanta for Mike Bibby and Jordan Crawford. Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld insisted that Crawford be included in the trade and now we know why as the 22-year-old showed what he can do when given an opportunity to play. He started 16 games for the Wizards as Nick Young was banged up near the end and averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.0 boards per contest over that stretch. However, his value hinges on whether the Wizards bring Young back. If Young is on the roster and healthy, he'll likely return to the starting lineup, which would put Crawford back on the bench. Although, he would still be a part of the team's rotation and see more time than he did in Atlanta. Owners should keep an eye on where he lands on the depth chart heading into training camp next fall. Assuming he'll be the team's sixth man, Crawford would be worth taking in the mid-to-late rounds on Draft Day. (Updated 8/29/11)
