Jazz to sign German C Tibor Pleiss
|by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer|
|(7/9/15) The Jazz have bought German center Tibor Pleiss out of his contract with FC Barcelona and plan to sign him to an NBA contract, per Mundo Deportivo.
Pleiss has been working with the team in Utah, which will pay $625,000 to extract him from the Spanish club. Pleiss was first drafted by the Nets in the second round of the 2010 draft and has been part of several trades while playing overseas.
Tibor Pleiss, Raul Neto could play for Jazz next season

|(6/29/15) The Jazz may add a pair of international players to the roster next season. The Deseret News is reporting that both Tibor Pleiss and Raul Neto will both discuss the possibility of coming to America and playing for the Jazz in 2015-16.
The Jazz acquired the rights to Pleiss, a 25-year-old, 7-foot-2 German center, in a trade with Oklahoma City last year. He was in Utah over the weekend discussing the possibility of leaving FC Barcelona of the Spanish league.
Neto also plans to talk to the Jazz. The Brazilian point guard was acquired by the Jazz after being drafted by Atlanta in 2013. He currently plays for UCAM Murcia of the Spanish League.
Thunder not counting on Pleiss
|(6/13/11) The Oklahoman reports that center Tibor Pleiss, who the Thunder acquired with the 31st overall selection in the 2010 draft, could be coming to Oklahoma City in the near future. When he was drafted, rather than bring Pleiss over immediately, the organization allowed the 7-foot-1 German to continue developing in his native country. But don't expect to see him in a Thunder uniform anytime soon. Whenever the curtain is lifted on the 2011-12 NBA season, Pleiss doesn't figure to be a part of it. It appears the big man who the Thunder thinks has big potential will stay overseas for additional seasoning. When asked about the plan for Pleiss, Thunder GM Sam Presti did not provide exact details of the team's intentions. Tibor, we like, Presti said. We're in constant communication with him and following him. He's progressing well. We cannot speed up his development. We're excited for where he is. But we've got to let him be him. We'll continue to watch him this summer.|
