Seraphin inconsistently consistent : Wizards forward Kevin Seraphin did not have one of his better shooting nights during Tuesday's contest against the Bulls. Seraphin went 1 of 5 from the field in the 90-86 win and finished with two points. He also added five rebounds and two assists to his stat line, while logging 18 minutes off the bench.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Seraphin continues to see around 20-25 minutes off the bench most nights, but his production has been all over the place. The 23-year-old has scored in double figures just three of his last seven games and he is averaging 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds over that span on 41 percent shooting from the field. At this point in the season, Seraphin should only be active in the deepest of formats.

| All it took was one move in the offseason for Kevin Seraphin to become a victim of circumstance. Seraphin, who emerged as a solid two-way threat for the Wizards once he was added to the starting lineup last year, will have to battle new arrival Emeka Okafor, as well as Trevor Booker for playing time this season. The 22-year-old made strong strides in his second NBA season and posted career highs in points (7.9) and rebounds (4.9). But he was also impressive on the defensive side for Washington and ranked among the league leaders with an average of 1.3 blocks per night despite starting just 21 games. Seraphin was fortunate to take advantage of injuries (Nene) and off-court issues (Andray Blatche) en route to playing time last year, but he is unlikely to be in the same position this season. Fantasy owners should knock him down in most drafts as he is not guaranteed to see ample minutes in the Wizards' rotation. Look for him as a value pick in the later rounds of deeper Fantasy drafts for 2012-13. (Updated 8/21/12) |
