Newly acquired PG Greivis Vasquez excited about Bucks
|by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer|
|(7/3/15) Bucks newly acquired point guard Greivis Vasquez already sees a perfect situation for himself in Milwaukee, per the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.
Vasquez will play under Jason Kidd, a former point guard in the NBA, and is in a position to learn and improve his game.
"Being under him I think is going to help me overall in my game. This guy is a Hall of Famer. He's proven he can coach in this league. He went to the playoffs his first two years in the league.
"He took Milwaukee from 15 wins to 41 wins. So you've got to give him a lot of credit on that, and the whole front office. I feel like J-Kidd is really going to help me regardless."
Vasquez, who was acquired from the Raptors in a draft-day trade, feels that he has found an ideal fit with the Bucks.
"I've got shooters; I've got everything I need for a point guard," Vasquez said. "I've got big guys, fast (guys). I can get back to my New Orleans days. Obviously my shot is a lot better.
"To me the NBA is all about a fit. Honestly, this is a perfect fit for my game with the perfect coach. We'll see what happens. I can't really say too much; I've just to go out there and get it done.
"But I'm excited whatever my role is going to be. I'm a hard worker. Whatever they ask me to do, I'm going to do it. Winning to me is the most important thing."

|(6/25/15) The Bucks have acquired point guard Greivis Vasquez in a trade from the Raptors on Thursday, Yahoo Sports is reporting.
The Bucks will send the Raptors a future first and second round pick in exchange for Vasquez, per Yahoo Sports.

Raptors' Ross, Lowry replace Vasquez, Johnson in starting lineup
|by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com|
|(3/6/15) Forward Terrence Ross will start in Friday night's game against the Wizards, the Raptors announced.
Also starting is guard Kyle Lowry, who will be back on the court after missing the previous three games to rest various injuries. Both Ross and Lowry are replacing Greivis Vasquez and James Johnson in the starting lineup.
Ross has notched back-to-back games with 12 points — on Monday against the 76ers and on Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
Raptors' Greivis Vasquez adjusting to new role in offense
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(3/3/15) Raptors point guard Greivis Vasquez wasn't expecting to fill a backup role this season. But the veteran is making the most of the playing time he's getting, reports the Toronto Sun.
"This year has been tough for me," said Vasquez of the changing roles and adapting to each changing situation. "I have to adjust to one, two, three different roles."
Vasquez is averaging 9.5 points and 3.6 assists in 60 games this season.
"I just want to win," said Vasquez. "I just want to play in May."
Raptors to rest Kyle Lowry during Monday's game at Philadelphia
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(3/2/15) Citing rest, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry will be held out of Monday's game at Philadelphia, the team announced.
Lowry will be given the game off to rest a variety of injuries. Coach Dwane Casey said Lowry could miss a few more games to help him recover from his aliments, reports TSN.ca.
In 58 games, Lowry is averaging 18.0 points and 7.0 assists. Guard Greivis Vasquez will likely start in Lowry's place.
The Raptors are 9-point favorites.
|Following his breakout campaign in 2012-13, Greivis Vasquez was one of the league's biggest disappointments last season. He had a starting job with the Kings but struggled to earn big minutes, and then found himself buried on the bench following an early December trade to Toronto. He wasn't a complete nonfactor while backing up Kyle Lowry, averaging 9.5 points and 3.7 assists in 61 games for the Raptors, but it is obviously not an ideal situation for his Fantasy value. Vasquez is hardly starting material as a backup, but he would be a very worthwhile option if Lowry was to go down with a long-term issue. Consider taking him in the later rounds of most Fantasy formats as bench depth on Draft Day.
