Lakers guard Jeremy Lin stuffs the stat sheet in Sunday's loss
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(3/1/15) Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin scored a game-high 20 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field and dished out eight assists in Los Angeles' 108-101 loss to the Thunder Sunday.
It was just Lin's second 20-plus point game in his last 25 games. He added six rebounds and three steals to his totals.
Scott: Jeremy Lin could return to Lakers starting lineup soon
|by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com|
|(2/27/15) Lakers coach Byron Scott said guard Jeremy Lin could be making a return to the starting lineup within the next week.
Scott told InsideSoCal.com's Mark Medina that Lin could rejoin the starting lineup at shooting guard, with rookie Jordan Clarkson remaining at the point.
Lin started at point guard for the first 20 games of the season, before Scott sent him to the bench. "He’s responded better off the bench," Scott said.
Lin won't make his return to the starting lineup on Friday. Scott plans to start the same lineup as he has the past two games, with Lin coming off the bench.
Lakers' Ronnie Price to miss 6 to 8 weeks following elbow surgery
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(2/25/15) The Lakers announced Wednesday guard Ronnie Price underwent elbow surgery and will be out six to eight weeks.
The surgery removed bone spurs and bone chips from his right elbow. Price had been dealing with the discomfort in his elbow for more than a month.
Guards Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson are expected to see their roles increased with Price out.
Lakers rule Nick Young (knee) out of Wednesday's game
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(2/25/15) Lakers guard Nick Young has been ruled out of Wednesday's game at Utah, the team announced.
Young has been dealing a sore knee and coach Byron Scott said it's still bothering Young.
"Still a little sore, so he won't go [Wednesday]," Scott said. "Still a little swelling."
Guards Wayne Ellington and Jeremy Lin should see an increase in minutes with Young out.
The Lakers 10-point underdogs.
Lakers' Jeremy Lin leads the way on Sunday
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(2/23/15) Lakers guard Jeremy Lin led the team with 25 points on Sunday against the Celtics.
Lin shot 10-15 from the field, including 1-3 from beyond the arc. He sunk four of his six free throws, leading the team in scoring. Lin also added six assists and one steal during the contest.
|Last season in Houston, he was one of the better backup point guards for Fantasy, but this year Jeremy Lin will get the chance to shine again as a starter for the Lakers. You probably shouldn't expect Linsanity Part II considering he'll have Kobe Bryant and Julius Randle to share with, but he'll probably come pretty close to the 18.2 points and 7.7 assists he averaged as a starter during that magical 25-game run in New York. The way he navigates driving lanes will likely work well with Randle's bowling-ball-esque post game, so many of Lin's assists will probably come from a two-man game with the Lakers' first round big man. Los Angeles waived Kendall Marshall, and the only other point guard on the roster is Steve Nash, who only appeared in 15 games last season. You can probably wait to draft Lin after point guards like Brandon Jennings and Jrue Holiday, but because the Lakers lack playmakers, Lin could easily match or even exceed their production. Getting Lin in the middle rounds will probably look like a steal by year's end.
