Bulls rule forward Mike Dunleavy out Wednesday
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(1/7/15) Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters forward Mike Dunleavy will not play in Wednesday’s game against the Jazz, reports ESPN Chicago.
It will be the third straight game Dunleavy has missed since sustaining a foot injury. Forward Nikola Mirotic has seen his minutes increase during Dunleavy’s absence.
The Bulls are 10 1/2-point favorites.
Bulls SF Mike Dunleavy 'likely out' vs. Rockets
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
|(1/5/15) Bulls small forward Mike Dunleavy is no longer in a walking boot but is "likely out" for Monday's game against the Rockets, reports the Chicago Tribune. Coach Tom Thibodeau called Dunleavy a gametime decision.
Dunleavy hurt his foot Thursday against the Nuggets and missed Saturday's game against the Celtics. If Dunleavy sits out Monday as expected, Nikola Mirotic could make his second straight start.
Bulls PF Nikola Mirotic draws first start Saturday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(1/3/15) Bulls power forward Nikola Mirotic is in the starting lineup for the first time this season for Saturday's game against the Celtics.
The Bulls are playing without small forward Mike Dunleavy (foot), allowing Mirotic to work his way into the lineup. He hasn't cracked the 20-minute barrier since Dec. 19, when he scored 27 points in 30 minutes against Memphis. Mirotic has averaged 8.0 points on 43.9 percent shooting in 33 games.
Chicago is a 10-point home favorite Saturday against Boston.
Bulls PF Mirotic sets season mark with 27 points Friday
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(12/19/14) Bulls emerging power forward Nikola Mirotic has been providing consistent production of late, but he outdid himself Friday in Memphis.
The rookie came off the bench to score a season-high 27 points on 7 of 10 shooting and added eight rebounds. He is now averaging 8.1 points per game.
|The Bulls were finally able to get their 2011 first-round pick to come to the NBA, as Nikola Mirotic agreed to a three-year deal with Chicago this offseason. Mirotic blossomed into one of the best players in Europe over the last few years, as he finished as a second-team All-Euroleague player last season for Real Madrid. He averaged 10.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in just 24 minutes per game a year ago, and will likely step into a similar role in a packed Bulls frontcourt. Mirotic might be able to split his time between both forward spots in Chicago, but this is a team with a lot of other more proven options at this point. Mirotic might find playing time somewhat inconsistent, but could emerge as a useful Fantasy option if he gets the minutes. For now, he should be a priority only in long-term Dynasty/keeper leagues on Draft Day.
