|Crawford a bit off vs. Grizzlies |
|by Adam Moore | CBSSports.com|
(4/14/13) Clippers guard Jamal Crawford did not have one of his better shooting nights during Saturday's contest against the Grizzlies. Crawford finished with nine points in the 91-87 defeat on just 2 of 7 shooting from the field. He went 1 of 2 from downtown and added three rebounds, two assists and one block to his stat line, while logging 22 minutes off the bench.
|After an ill-fated season in Portland, Jamal Crawford enjoyed a bounce back campaign last year with the Clippers. He served his role as a sparkplug off the bench well, averaging 16.5 points and 2.5 assists per game. Crawford is no longer capable of serving as a backup point guard as he did earlier in his career, but he remains a potent scorer and shooter, averaging 16.5 points and 2.0 3-pointers per game. He should fill a similar role for the Clippers yet again this season, but his single-minded approach to the game ultimately limits his Fantasy value more than his strong scoring numbers might indicate. Crawford is a borderline starting option, and is more of a late-round target on Draft Day in most formats.
