Harrison Barnes, Warriors both want to work out extension

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(6/7/15) Warriors SG Harrison Barnes wants a contract extension during the offseason.

Barnes is playing on his rookie contract from 2012. He likely won't merit a max extension, but the Warriors are interested in keeping him for the long term. The two sides are working to finalize numbers, which will likely be in the $10-12 million a year range, per the San Jose Mercury News.

Warriors' Barnes says focus was on shutting down Lebron's teammates

by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(6/5/15) It sounds strange, but Warriors forward Harrison Barnes says his team completed their gameplan to perfection by allowing LeBron James to scored a playoff career-high 44 points in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, per usatoday.com.

The Warriors, it seems, strategically wanted to shut down production from anyone not named LeBron James in hopes that that would result in a win. So far so good, the Warriors claimed Game 1 108-100 in overtime.

"You've got to look at it and say, 'Look, this is what we wanted to do,'" Barnes said. "We iced out most of his teammates. Obviously Kyrie (Irving) got some things going (23 points, seven rebounds, six assists), but (James) is going to have to have big offensive nights for them. If he beats us doing that, and the other guys don't get going, we'll live with that. But chances are, I think we'll be all right."

Warriors F Harrison Barnes scores 24 in Game 5 win over Rockets

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5/28/15) Warriors forward Harrison Barnes played one of his best games of the season in Thursday's 104-90 win over the Rockets in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals.

Barnes scored 24 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field, which included going 2 for 5 from behind the arc. He also made both of his free-throw attempts. Barnes got a lot of looks around the rim late in the game, scoring 13 of his points in the fourth quarter.

This marked the most points Barnes has scored this postseason and the second-highest he's scored all year. His season high is 25, scored against the Hawks in a win on March 18.

Harrison Barnes steps up for Warriors in win

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(3/21/15) Harrison Barnes scored a team-high 22 points to lead the Warriors to a 112-96 win over the Pelicans on Friday.

With teammate Stephen Curry struggling with his shot, Barnes stepped up, hitting nine of 13 from the field.

Barnes hit five of his first seven shots, scoring 14 at the half to help put the Warriors on top while waiting for Curry to heat up.

The Warriors next host the Jazz on Saturday.

Warriors' Harrison Barnes scores season-high 25 in efficient night

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/19/15) Warriors small forward Harrison Barnes scored a season-high 25 points on 11 of 13 shooting in his team's 114-95 win over the Hawks Wednesday.

Barnes has been up and down from the field recently and entered play Wednesday making just 38.8 percent of his shots in the month of March. In addition to the excellent shooting performance, the small forward tallied four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes.

The Warriors take a three-game winning streak into Friday's matchup against the Pelicans.
