|Report: Arron Afflalo headed back to Denver |
|by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com|
(6/26/14) Orlando looks to be maneuvering for a roster overhaul, as Yahoo Sports reports that the Magic will send guard Arron Afflalo to the Nuggets in advance of Thursday's NBA Draft.
The deal is said to include Denver's Evan Fournier and a second round pick. This move is likely an attempt to clear space for flexibility needed in future deals.
Afflalo enjoyed a career-year in Orlando, averaging 18.2 points per game on the season. He played three seasons in Denver prior to arriving in Orlando. Afflalo also has a player option for the 2015-2016 season.

(3/20/14) Nuggets guard Evan Fournier got the start in Wilson Chandler's place Wednesday, but failed to make much of an impact in a 118-109 win over the Pistons.
Fournier played just 24 minutes despite earning the start, not far off what he usually gets off the bench. He scored 11 points on 5 of 9 shooting, but added just one rebound and one steal, while turning the ball over twice.
Fournier has taken a small step forward in his second season in the league, though it hasn't always been easy. He is averaging 7.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, while appearing in 62 of the team's first 68 games.

One night after dropping 14 points against the Heat, Fournier scored 10 points Saturday. He shot 4 of 10 from the field and added five rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes in the loss.
Fournier has been in and out of the rotation at times this season, but is still putting up better overall numbers than his rookie season. He is averaging 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists while appearing in 60 of Denver's first 66 games.

Fournier shot 8 of 11 from the floor, including 4 of 5 from downtown, and 7 of 8 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with five assists, four rebounds, one block and one steal while logging 36 minutes of game action.
Fournier has scored 25-plus points twice in his last four games. He is averaging 16.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists over his last five games played.
|Evan Fournier scores career-high 25 points vs. Suns |

(2/18/14) Nuggets guard Evan Fournier scored a career-high 25 points on 8 of 19 shooting, including 3 of 8 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 112-107 overtime loss to the Suns Tuesday.
Fournier barely topped his previous high of 24 points set last season while racking up eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in 33 minutes off the bench Tuesday. He has averaged 7.2 points and 2.3 rebounds over 46 games played.
|The Nuggets' first-round pick a year ago, Evan Fournier saw inconsistent playing time as a rookie. He appeared in 38 games overall, and was solid in limited minutes, averaging 5.3 points per game while shooting 49.3 percent from the field. And he did that while dealing with George Karl’s aversion to playing rookies big minutes, so he should see a bigger role in his second season in the league, under a new coach. Fournier showed a lot of promise, but should still go undrafted in most yearly leagues, given the Nuggets’ depth.
