(1/8/14) It’s been more than a month since Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist last practiced, but Wednesday The Charlotte Observer reported that the second-year lottery pick took the floor with teammates for the first time since being sidelined with a broken hand.
The team is aiming to activate Kidd-Gilchrist sometime next week. He was off to a slow start statistically, only averaging 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds through his first 18 games.
|Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is working on his shot with former NBA player Mark Price during the offseason after shooting 45.8 percent from the field during his rookie season. Last year's No. 2 overall pick started 77 of the 78 games played in 2012-13 and averaged 9.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists while logging 26.0 minutes per game for the Bobcats. Kidd-Gilchrist is expected to see some minutes at power forward this season, could make his lack of range less of an issue. The addition of Al Jefferson could help his production on offense, as Jefferson can draw double teams and is improved as a passer. Although Kidd-Gilchrist has still plenty of upside, he failed to crack the Top 60 highest scoring forwards in Fantasy last season. His upside and all-around skill set makes him a likely bet to improve, so consider him worth targeting in the later rounds of all Fantasy formats on Draft day.
