Bucks grab Kendall Marshall off waivers from Lakers
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(7/25/14) The Bucks were awarded guard Kendall Marshall off waivers, after he was released by the Lakers.
Marshall emerged as a key part of the Lakers' rotation last year, averaging 29.0 minutes per game in 54 appearances. He averaged 8.0 points per game and would have finished third in the league with 8.8 assists per game had he qualified for the leaderboard. Marshall might end up starting for the Bucks at point guard.
Kendall Marshall can't snap out of cold streak
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(2/27/14) Lakers guard Kendall Marshall is stuck in some kind of cold spell, as he threw up his second scoreless outing in a row Wednesday against the Grizzlies.
Marshall shot the ball six times and missed each attempt to finish without scoring in 24 minutes. He did pass the ball well, as he usually does, dishing out eight assists with just two turnovers, while adding five rebounds in the 108-103 loss.
Marshall has been surprisingly effective as a shooter this season, but he has lost it recently. He is shooting just 31.3 percent from the field over the last five games, while averaging 5.4 points per game. He is still adding 8.6 assists per game in that span as well, however.
Kendall Marshall doubles up again Wednesday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(2/20/14) Lakers guard Kendall Marshall saw heavy action for the second straight game Wednesday, scoring 20 points on 7 of 13 shooting, including 4 of 6 shooting from three-point range, while dishing out 16 assists to post his second straight double-double in his team's 134-108 loss to the Rockets.
With Steve Nash out and Steve Blake traded away just before tip, Marshall was left to do the heavy lifting Wednesday, playing 40-plus minutes in consecutive games for just the second time this season. He now has 34 points and 33 assists over his last two games. Marshall has averaged 10.7 points and 9.8 assists over 26 games played.
Kendall Marshall hands out 17 assists in losing effort
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(2/14/14) Lakers guard Kendall Marshall ended the unofficial first half of the season on a high note on Thursday, doubling up with 14 points and matching a career-high with 17 assists in his team's 107-103 loss to the Thunder.|
Marshall shot 6 of 13 from the floor, including 2 of 7 from downtown, and 0 of 1 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with seven rebounds and one steal while logging 44 minutes of game action.
The Lakers have lost all three games this season when Marshall has reached 16-plus assists in a game. He has averaged 10.6 points, 10.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds over his last five games.
2014 Draft Prep: Positional Tiers, 2.0
We're getting close to the end of the line for draft season as the NBA's first tip-off nears. Our Chris Towers ranks the players by position in his Tiers, 2.0.
|Adding Kendall Marshall last season was the kind of move that could have helped you to a Fantasy championship. He went from toiling in the D-League to among the league leaders in assists per game. His output had a lot to do with Mike D'anotni's point-guard friendly offense combined with the fact that the Lakers were pretty much out of options in the backcourt. Now he'll be dishing in Milwaukee -- another team without a sure thing at point guard. Last season it was difficult to trust anyone on the bucks for Fantasy. Still, it's hard to ignore his 11 games of 13-plus assists, and new coach Jason Kidd was a pass-first player himself. Take a flier on him late in the draft because assists are hard to come by, and he's one of the few passing experts left in the league.
