Report: GM to give Nets PF Mirza Teletovic a qualifying offer
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(5/6/15) Nets general manager Billy King is planning on giving power forward Mirza Teletovic a qualifying offer, ESPN has reported.
The Bosnian import can be a free agent, but has expressed an interest in staying with Brooklyn.
Teletovic lost three months of the regular season to blood clots before returning to earn a bit of playing time in the playoff loss to Atlanta. He averaged 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 22 minutes per game this season.
Nets' Mirza Teletovic admits game felt 'new' after lengthy absence
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(4/24/15) Nets forward Mirza Teletovic made his return to the court in Game 2, playing four minutes while grabbing two rebounds and failing to score a point. He said after the game that trying to catch up to the speed and intensity of a playoff game was difficult after his lengthy absence, the New York Post reports.
"I tried to go out there and not [make] too many mistakes," Teletovic said. "I guess I made some. I realize that when you come back after three months everything is new to you."
Teletovic was sidelined for three months after being diagnosed with blood clots. Coach Lionel Hollins said he wasn't on the court enough Wednesday to make an impact either way.
"There was nothing to evaluate," Hollins said. "If he’d made two shots, I would say he made two shots that really helped us. But he wasn’t out there long enough to do anything else."
Teletovic averaged 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds during the regular season. He'll likely be in line for limited action in Game 3 against the Hawks Saturday.

|(4/22/15) Nets forward Mirza Teletovic is active for Game 2 against the Hawks Wednesday, the New York Daily News reports.
Teletovic hasn't played since January due to blood clots in his lungs, and he expects his stamina to need some adjustment once he enters Wednesday's game.
"I'm 100 percent sure it's going to be tough," Teletovic said, per Newsday. "The first three, four minutes is going to be a hell of a ride."
Teletovic played 40 games during the regular season, averaging 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds.
Nets F Mirza Teletovic is probable for Game 2

|(4/21/15) Nets forward Mirza Teletovic is listed as probable for Game 2 at Atlanta, reports The Record.
Teletovic has not played since late January after he was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs. He has been on blood thinners, but he was able to practice Monday.
The Nets are 9 1/2-point underdogs for Wednesday's game at Atlanta.
Nets' Mirza Teletovic goes through practice on Monday
|by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com|
|(4/20/15) Nets forward Mirza Teletovic was able to go through practice with his team on Monday, according to ESPN.com.
Teletovic has been out since late January due to blood clots that developed in his lungs. He's been on blood thinners, though recent blood analysis came back as normal. He's been cleared for basketball activities.
"I feel pretty good," Teletovic said, via NorthJersey.com. "I mean, people think that I’ve been sitting the last three months. I didn’t really. Like after the first three weeks I was out I started working out and I’m in pretty good shape for now."
It still seems unlikely he'll be able to play against the Hawks in Game 2 on Wednesday.
“Now it’s more up to coaches,” Teletovic said. “Because they have the team they play for the last three months and they’ve been functioning pretty good and now if they don’t me to be lagging kind of behind or something like that. So, i mean, it’s their decision. I think they know what they’re doing.”
|Mirza Teletovic found his niche last season, stretching the floor as part of the Nets' funky hybrid lineups in the second half of the season. After failing to make any kind of impact as a rookie, Teletovic averaged 8.6 points per game, largely on the strength of 1.9 3-pointers per game on 39.0 percent success. He should see a similar role for the Nets next season, and will likely continue to have just marginal value in deeper, category-based Fantasy formats. Only look his way in the late rounds on Draft Day.
