Wizards sign Paul Pierce to two-year deal on mid-level exception
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(7/13/14) The Wizards and forward Paul Pierce agreed on a two-year contract at the mid-level exception, according to ESPN's Marc Stein on Saturday. Pierce will have a player option in the second year of his deal.

Pierce averaged 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season for the Nets, the lowest averages of his career across the board.
Nets not considering sign-and-trade with Paul Pierce
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7/3/14) The Nets are not interested in working out a sign-and-trade deal with the Clippers for veteran forward Paul Pierce, as Nets general manager Billy King told ESPN.com Thursday.

The Clippers have looked into the possibility of working out a sign-and-trade to bring Pierce west, in a move that would reunite him with former coach Doc Rivers. However, King said a deal does not make sense for their side, and is unlikely to happen.

ESPN.com also reports the Nets are interested in bringing Pierce back on a short-term deal worth upwards of $6 million, though negotiations are ongoing. Pierce averaged 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season, the lowest averages of his career across the board.

Nets resting entire starting lineup
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4/16/14) The Nets will be without their entire starting lineup for Wednesday's finale in Cleveland, though health is not a big concern heading into the playoffs. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are getting the night off to rest before the postseason starts, while Joe Johnson (calf), Deron Williams (knee) and Shaun Livingston (toe) are all receiving treatment for minor injuries.
Paul Pierce solid in playing through shoulder injury
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4/16/14) Nets forward Paul Pierce was able to play through a shoulder injury Tuesday, logging 21 minutes in a 109-98 loss to the Knicks. Pierce scored 13 points on 4 of 8 shooting in the game, with one 3-pointer made. He added one rebound, one assist and one steal in the loss.

With the Nets locked into their playoff seeding, Pierce might not even play in the season finale against the Cavaliers Wednesday. If not, he will finish the season averaging 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 75 appearances, the worst averages of his career across the board.

Paul Pierce playing through shoulder "tweak"
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4/15/14) Nets forward Paul Pierce will play through a minor shoulder injury Tuesday against the Knicks, after tweaking it in Sunday's game. Pierce is in the starting lineup against the Knicks, though he might not play his usual role with the Nets gearing up for the playoffs.
