Williams calls it a career: The Boston Globe reports that Grizzlies point guard Jason Williams has informed the team that he has retired from the game of basketball after 12 NBA seasons. He caps off his pro career after his worst season in the league, averaging just 2.0 points per game in 27 appearances. Williams retires with a 10.5 points per game average over the dozen years, playing with four teams. He was on the 2005-06 NBA champion Miami Heat roster. (Updated 04/18/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Williams was a flashy floor general when he first entered the league back in 1998 with the Kings, and he proved to be one of the more crafty passers during his prime. "White Chocolate" -- as he was nicknamed -- finished with a career average of 5.9 assists per game. He wasn't much of a Fantasy contributor down the stretch of his career, especially this past season with the Grizzlies, when he dealt with ongoing back issues. Owners should not have had him on any active rosters at this point anyway. (Updated 04/18/2011).
