76ers expect Canaan (illness), Noel (shin) to play Wednesday
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(3/10/15) 76ers coach Brett Brown said Tuesday he expects guard Isaiah Canaan and center Nerlens Noel to play in Wednesday’s game against the Bulls, reports the team's official website.
Canaan is dealing with an upper respiratory infection, which has caused him to miss the last two days of practice. Meanwhile, Noel has been dealing with a shin injury, but he was able to practice Tuesday and said he is feeling good, reports the Bucks County Courier Times.
"It's just something you rest a little bit, it goes away," he said.
|He only appeared in 22 games last season for Houston, but Jeremy Lin's trade to Los Angeles opens up a need for some backcourt scoring off the Rockets' bench. That's precisely what they drafted Isaiah Canaan for, and hopefully he'll get the chance to show off his scoring prowess. Don't target Canaan on Draft Day, but do monitor his role with a Houston team that lost a good bit of depth this offseason.
