|Archie Goodwin looking better in recent games |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(2/27/14) Suns guard Archie Goodwin has been playing a bit more recently, as he played at least 10 minutes for the third time in four games Wednesday against the Jazz.
He actually played far more than usual thanks to injuries, and put together one of his best games of the season. Goodwin scored 16 points in 27 minutes, on 6 of 10 shooting. He was just 3 for 7 at the free-throw line, but added seven rebounds, two steals and one assist and steal each in the 109-86 loss.
He matched his career-high in scoring with the game, his second double-digit scoring effort in a row. The No. 29 overall pick in last year's draft is still averaging just 3.7 points per game in 40 appearances.

(11/20/13) Suns rookie guard Archie Goodwin showed some signs of promise during Tuesday's loss to the Kings in Sacramento.
Goodwin got off to a fast start as he scored 12 points in the second quarter and only managed to score four more in the second half. He finished the game with a new career-high 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals while logging 19 minutes in a 107-104 defeat.
Goodwin scored in double figures for the first time this season and is averaging 5.8 points and 1.6 rebounds over his last five games played.
|Archie Goodwin scores season-high six points in win |

(11/10/13) Suns guard Archie Goodwin scored a season-high six points on 3 of 7 shooting while playing 17 minutes in his team's 101-94 win over the Pelicans Sunday.
All four of Goodwin's misses were from three-point range, and he added three rebounds and three blocks to his line in the win. The 17 minutes matched a season-high for the 2013 first-rounder.
|Coming out of high school, Archie Goodwin was considered one of the top recruits in the country, so naturally, he ended up at Kentucky under head coach John Calipari. Unfortunately, Goodwin toiled through one of Kentucky’s worst seasons in recent memory, and his prospect status seemed to take a hit as a result. Despite averaging 14.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while playing the entire season as an 18-year-old, Goodwin nearly fell out of the first round, before he was selected by the Thunder and traded to Phoenix. The Suns don't have many options at shooting guard right now, so Goodwin should see plenty of playing time right away, even if he is unlikely to start from day one. Goodwin is not the type of player Fantasy owners should run out to grab on Draft Day, but he has the skillset and pedigree to be worth keeping on eye on throughout the season.
