Suns center Alex Len dealing with sore foot
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(1/21/15) Suns center Alex Len is dealing with a sore foot, according to the ArizonaSports.com.
Len has excelled with the team recently, drawing praise from coach Jeff Hornacek. "I think he's got a great future," Hornacek said. He added, however, that the team needs to be cautious with their big man moving forward. "The one thing is we always have to be a little careful with the ankle. His foot is a little sore right now."
Len had ankle surgery last season, which limited his reps. Hornacek believes Len may have some tendinitis in his ankle. "I think he's got a little tendinitis in there," he said. "We just want to take it easy with him and make sure we don't wear him out."
Len is averaging 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Suns center Alex Len beginning to flourish as starter
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(1/18/15) Suns center Alex Len is starting to grow into his role with Phoenix and become a bigger contributor on the boards. On a team that ranks 17th in rebounds per game, it is much needed.
"For a big man, that's my bread basically," Len said. "That's how I eat."
Over his last four games, Len is averaging 11.8 rebounds and has reached double figures in each. Len hadn't had double digit rebounds since Dec. 26 and had only done so three times this season.
"He's taken steps forward almost every game with the things he does," coach Jeff Hornacek said.

It's the second straight double-double for Len, who only managed three of them in his first 39 games of the season. He also chipped in three assists, one block and one steal in 37 minutes. The Suns will square off with the Timberwolves Friday.
Suns C Alex Len doubles up vs. Kings Friday

|(12/27/14) Suns center Alex Len scored 10 points on 5 of 9 shooting while grabbing 11 rebounds in his team's 115-106 win over the Kings in Sacramento Friday.
Len's double-double was just his third of the season, and his 11 rebounds matched a career high. He also set a new career high by racking up five blocks in his 23 minutes of action. The Suns have followed up a six-game losing streak with a five-game (and counting) winning streak. They'll square off with the Lakers Sunday.
Suns establishing platoon system for Miles Plumlee and Alex Len
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(11/22/14) Suns coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters he would like to keep Miles Plumlee's and Alex Len's minutes relatively even at center. Hornacek added that he'd like to form a platoon system that plays each center five to six minutes at a time, according to the Arizona Republic.
"That's about their limit," Hornacek said. "Once they hit that, they start to tail down a little bit because we ask them to do a lot in terms of running the court for a big guy."
Plumlee has started all 13 games for Phoenix this season, averaging 5.9 points and 6.4 rebounds in 24.2 minutes per contest. Len has logged 19.0 minutes per contest and has averaged 6.2 points and 5.1 boards over that span.
|This guy just cannot catch a break. Maybe that's a poor choice of words considering Alex Len came into the league recovering from ankle surgeries last year. Then, broke his pinky at the Las Vegas Summer League this offseason, but it seems Len will still need developmental minutes before he's ready for a large role with the Suns. It's safe to leave him off draft boards outside of deep leagues.
