Magic guard Victor Oladipo looking iffy for season opener
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(10/21/14) It appears doubtful Magic guard Victor Oladipo, who is recovering from a sprained MCL, will be ready in time for the season opener Oct. 28 against the Pelicans, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Oladipo did attempt a few jumpers and made a few dunks at the outset of practice Monday.
"It feels a lot better," Oladipo said. "It's a day-by-day process. A sprained MCL is kind of like a scab. You've just got to let it heal. That's pretty much what I'm doing."

Oladipo is destined to miss the exhibition game Friday against Indiana, but there appears to be no threat that he will not be ready for the start of the regular season.
Magic guard Victor Oladipo suffers sprained MCL

|(10/6/14) Magic guard Victor Oladipo suffered a sprained MCL during a recent team scrimmage, the team announced Monday.
Oladipo apparently suffered the injury Friday, though the extent is not yet known. He becomes the second Magic player to suffer this injury, as Channing Frye went down last week with the same issue. At this point, it is not clear how much this injury is expected to linger, nor whether it will impact Oladipo's availability for the start of the season.
Oladipo stayed remarkably healthy as a rookie, playing in 80 of 82 possible games. He averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting.
Victor Oladipo will see time in summer league
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(4/17/14) Magic guard Victor Oladipo maybe be one of the frontrunners for Rookie of the Year, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have room to improve. Magic general manager Rob Hennigan told the Orlando Sentinel in Thursday's exit interview Oladipo will take part in the summer league yet again, but may not be used in every game this time around.
Oladipo ended up playing in 80 games for the Magic, and finished in the top-five in most major categories among rookies. He averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He also played the most minutes total among rookies.
Victor Oladipo scores 16 off the bench vs. Raptors
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(3/30/14) Magic rookie guard Victor Oladipo put together an efficient shooting performance on Sunday, scoring 16 points on 7 of 12 from the floor, and 2 of 4 from downtown in a 98-93 loss to the Raptors.|
Oladipo did all of his damage in 26 minutes off the bench, also adding four assists, two rebounds and two steals. He is averaging 16.6 points, 5.0 assists and 4.2 rebounds over his last five games.
|Victor Oladipo was a bit overmatched at times as a rookie, but ultimately justified the Magic's faith in him as a lead ballhandler worthy of the No. 2 overall pick last season. Oladipo appeared in all but two games in his first season and ranked second among rookies in scoring (13.8 points per game), third in assists (4.1) and seventh in rebounds (4.1). Oladipo struggled with his shot and turnovers, but emerged as a solid stat-sheet stuffer with considerable upside. The Magic shipped out incumbent veterans Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson this offseason, and appear ready to hand the keys of the offense over to Oladipo. Fantasy owners should consider Oladipo a low-end No. 2 guard, worthy of a selection beginning in the fourth round on Draft Day.
