Celtics SF Gigi Datome inks deal with Turkish club

|(7/14/15) Small forward Gigi Datome, who saw the first action of his NBA career last season with the Celtics, has decided to return to Europe, signing a three-year deal with the Turkish club Fenerbahce, per the Boston Herald.
Datome 5.2 points in 10.7 minutes over the 18 games he played in Boston, but was part of a roster squeeze as the team addressed its frontcourt.
"I want to thank all of the NBA teams that offered me a spot on the roster, but as I said many times, I was looking for a place where I could be (an) important piece to the rotations," Datome wrote on his Facebook page.

|(4/27/15) Celtics forward Luigi Datome is headed for unrestricted free agency this offseason, but he said Monday it's "too early" to talk about his future plans, Sportando reports.
"It is too early to talk about," Datome said in a postgame interview with Gazzetta TV. "I will decide my future after I will get some offers during the summer. I expect to have proposals from both the NBA and European teams. Then I will sit and make the best decision for me and my career as I’ve always tried to do."
Datome saw the first significant action of his career after being traded to the Celtics, averaging 5.2 points and 10.7 minutes in 18 games with Boston.
"It was great to play for the Celtics and to reach the NBA playoffs," Datome said. "I had my first real chance in the NBA, after almost two years. It was great to wear the Celtics jersey.
Datome made three playoff appearances, seeing a total of 14 minutes of action while scoring four points on 2 of 6 shooting.

|(4/4/15) The Celtics' Luigi Datome will be an unrestricted free agent this off season and there will be strong interest around the NBA for the Italian import, according to Sportando.com.|
Celtics coach Brad Stevens is also high on the small forward and has indicated that the Celtics will try to resign Datome.
In 15 games this season, Datome is averaging 4.4 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.
Celtics trade veteran Tayshaun Prince back to Pistons

|(2/19/15) Tayshaun Prince will be heading back to where he started his career -- Detroit. The Celtics shipped Prince to the Pistons in exchange for Jonas Jerebko and Luigi Datome just moments before the trade deadline buzzer at 3 p.m. ET. The Pistons announced the deal Thursday night.
"Tayshaun Prince is certainly well known to fans in Detroit and we're pleased to welcome him back," said coach Stan Van Gundy. "He fills a position of need for us at small forward with his offensive and defensive versatility. We thank both Jonas and Gigi for their hard work and wish them well going forward."
The Pistons took Prince with the No. 23 overall pick in 2002 draft. The 34-year-old veteran spent 11 seasons with Detroit where he averaged 12.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He spent two-plus seasons with the Grizzlies before he was shipped to Boston in a trade in January. Prince is is averaging 7.6 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 44.6 percent from the field this season
Pistions recall Dinwidie, Datome from D-League affiliate

|(1/20/15) The Pistons have recalled point guard Spencer Dinwiddie and small forward Luigi Datome from their D-League affiliate the Grand Rapids Drive, the team announced Tuesday.
Dinwiddie has played in eight games this season for Detroit and is averaging 3.0 points and 2.1 assists while Datome has played just one game and scored seven points.
