Celtics PG Marcus Smart hit with one-game suspension
|(3/21/15) Celtics point guard Marcus Smart has been suspended for Sunday's game against the Pistons for a flagrant-2 foul committed in Friday's loss in San Antonio, per the NBA.|
Smart hit Spurs forward Matt Bonner in the groin area midway through the fourth quarter and was automatically ejected.
Smart said after the game that he was trying to rip through a Bonner screen and had accidentally hit him.
This was the second time this month that Smart was ejected for overly aggressive play.
With guard Isaiah Thomas out with an injury, Phil Pressey is expected to fill Smart's minutes
Celtics' Stevens pleased with guard Phil Pressey's production

|(3/16/15) While his playing time has been sporadic, Celtics coach Brad Stevens commended guard Phil Pressey's ability to stay ready, reports ESPN.com.
"I told [Pressey], he's a really valued member of our team," Stevens said. "In our organization, he works the right way. If he doesn't play, he's the loudest guy on the bench; and if he does play, he's an energizer. He's not going to play perfect, but nobody is, and if you can sustain that and not get down and be confident, there's always a role for you. And that's a great compliment."
Pressey has scored 22 points over the last three games and said it has not been easy adjusting to erratic playing time.
"It's tough to continue to do it every single day, but Coach has been telling me that you never know when your time is going to come so just stay ready," Pressey said.

Pressey also dished out 10 assists, leading to his first double-double of the season and third of his career. Coach Brad Stevens was happy with Pressey play in a short amount of time.
"Him responding and just being ready is a real testament to Phil," Stevens said. "If he doesn't play he's the loudest guy on the bench and if he does play he's an energizer."

|(2/6/15) The Celtics have recalled guard Phil Pressey from the Maine Red Claws on the NBA D-League, according to the team's official website.
Pressey was sent down for the first time in his two-year career on Thursday. In 31 games for the Celtics, he has averaged 3.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 11.6 minutes per game.
Celtics ship Andre Dawkins, Phil Pressey down to D-League

|(2/5/15) The Celtics have assigned guards Andre Dawkins and Phil Pressey to the Maine Red Claws on the NBA D-League for Thursday's game against Iowa, per the team's official website.
Dawkins was signed to a second 10-day contract on Monday. He has made four appearances for the Celtics, averaging 5.5 minutes per game off the bench.
After sitting out three of Boston's last four games, Pressley, a second-year pro, will be making his first appearance in the D-League. In 31 games for the Celtics, he has averaged 3.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 11.6 minutes per game.
|An undrafted free agent rookie, Phil Pressey earned his spot as the team's primary backup point guard with solid play in spot starts last season. He appeared in 75 games overall, but averaged 8.2 points, 7.2 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game in his 11 starts. Unfortunately, he made little impact otherwise, and returns to what could be an even more crowded backcourt following the drafting of Marcus Smart. Pressey could be a useful Fantasy contributor in a starting role, but is not worth targeting in any format on Draft Day.
