Mo Williams, Troy Daniels won't join Hornets on Tuesday

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(2/10/15) Newly acquired Hornets guards Mo Williams and Troy Daniels aren't expected to join the team in time for Tuesday's contest against the Pistons, per the team's official website.

Williams averaged 12.3 points and 6.5 assists in 40 games (19 starts) this season for Minnesota. He has knocked down 40.3 percent of his field goal attempts and 34.7 of his shots from downtown. Daniels is averaging 2.8 points and 0.5 assists in 35 games between Minnesota and Houston.

Charlotte is a 1 1/2-point favorite against the Pistons.

Timberwolves ship Mo Williams to Hornets for Gary Neal, Troy Daniels

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(2/10/15) The Timberwolves have traded guard Mo Williams to the Hornets, in exchange for guard Gary Neal, guard Troy Daniels and a second-round draft pick, Charlotte announced Tuesday. In order to clear roster space, the Hornets released Elliot Williams from his 10-day contract.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Hornets are determined to make a playoff push, and feel that the addition of Williams would give them a chance to make a run while Kemba Walker remains sideline. The move would also keep Lance Stephenson from running the point while Walker is injured.

Outside of point guard depth, Williams gives Charlotte another threat beyond the arc. Williams is averaging 12.3 points and 6.5 assists in 40 games (19 starts) this season for Minnesota. He has knocked down 40.3 percent of his field goal attempts and 34.7 of his shots from downtown.

Meanwhile, Neal has appeared in 43 of Charlotte's 52 games, posting averages of 9.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 35.9 percent from the field over that span. Daniels is averaging 2.8 points and 0.5 assists in 35 games between Minnesota and Houston. Daniels is familiar with the organization. He spent time in Charlotte's training camp in 2013.

Report: Hornets, Wolves discuss deal for Mo Williams, Troy Daniels

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(2/9/15) The Hornets are in need of a point guard and the Timberwolves may be able to supply one. Both teams are reportedly discussing a deal to send Mo Williams and Troy Daniels to Charlotte, according to Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

However, the discussion has stalled in recent days. Williams is averaging 12.3 points and 6.5 assists in 40 games while Daniels is averaging 2.8 points and 0.5 assists in 35 games between Minnesota and Houston.

Rockets, Timberwolves, 76ers complete Corey Brewer trade

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(12/19/14) The Rockets, Timberwolves and 76ers completed a three-team trade Friday night, the teams announced.

The Rockets received forward Corey Brewer from the Timberwolves and guard Alexey Shved from the 76ers. The Timberwolves picked up guard Troy Daniels, Sacramento's 2015 second-round pick, Houston's 2016 second-round pick and cash considerations from the Rockets.

Brewer is the prize of the deal, having averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals in 24 games. Shved has averaged 9.9 points and 2.7 assists in 17 games with the 76ers. Daniels has averaged 2.7 points while shooting 31.9 percent from the field in 17 games.

The 76ers received center Ronny Turiaf from Timberwolves as well as Houston's 2015 second-round pick and the rights to Serhiy Lischuk from the Rockets. The team is set to waive Turiaf, who is out for the season after undergoing hip surgery earlier in the week.

Report: Turiaf to 76ers, Shved to Rockets in Corey Brewer trade

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(12/19/14) The trade sending small forward Corey Brewer from the Timberwolves to the Rockets has a third team involved, with Ronny Turiaf and a second-round pick heading to the 76ers and point guard Alexey Shved moving to the Rockets, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The Rockets are primed to pick up Brewer and Shved, with Rockets shooting guard Troy Daniels heading to Minnesota and Turiaf moving to the 76ers. The Rockets had agreed to send two second-round picks to the Timberwolves as well, but one of those picks will head to Philadelphia as part of the deal.

The Rockets will release guard Francisco Garcia in a corresponding move, Yahoo! Sports reports. He has averaged 3.2 points on 27 percent shooting in 14 games but has battled an ankle issue in recent weeks.
