Spurs rule forward Kawhi Leonard out Wednesday
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(12/16/14) The Spurs announced forward Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Leonard is suffering from a bruised right hand and X-rays taken on his hand did not reveal a bone fracture, reports the San Antonio Express-News.
Leonard had previously missed two games while dealing with the hand injury. The team is still awaiting further test results before determining how long Leonard will be out. His next opportunity to play will be Friday against the Trail Blazers.
During the two games Leonard missed, backup forward Kyle Anderson scored nine points Dec. 10 and six points Dec. 12. However, Anderson scored 15 points Monday against the Trail Blazers.
Spurs recall Kyle Anderson from Austin
|(11/24/14) The Spurs have announced Monday they have recalled forward Kyle Anderson from the Austin of the NBA Development League.
Last year's first-round pick has appeared in seven games this season, averaging 13.7 minutes per game. He has totaled six points, seven assists and 17 rebounds.
|Of course the Spurs would draft the only point forward in the first round. Kyle Anderson just looks like a Spur. He's good at everything, great at nothing and not very athletic. But his ball handling and court vision at 6-foot-9 made him a unique prospect. He'll probably spend some time in the D-League this season developing a jumper, so leave him off your yearly league draft boards. But in dynasty leagues, his assist potential should garner him a late-round pick.
