(3/23/15) Guard Zach LaVine poured in a game-high 27 points, including the winning free throws, to put the Timberwolves past the Jazz 106-104 in overtime.

Two of LaVine's career-high 5 3-pointers came late in the 4th quarter to help force the overtime period.

The rookie shot 7 of 19 from the floor including 5 of 6 from 3-point range.

LaVine's 27 points are the most he's scored since posting 28 on Nov. 28.

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(3/16/15) Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine hit four of his six three-point attempts during Monday night's 122-106 loss to the Nets.

LaVine finished the game with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. He added three assists, two rebounds and one steal. This marked the first time since November that LaVine scored 20 points in a game.

Teammate Kevin Martin scored a game-high 23 in the losing effort.

Wolves' Gary Neal will not play Monday at Houston

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/23/15) Timberwolves guard Gary Neal said his ankle injury is too severe to be able to play in Monday's game at Houston, reports the Star-Tribune.

Neal sprained his ankle at Sunday's practice. In 44 games, he is averaging 9.5 points and 2.2 rebounds. Guard Zach LaVine could see his minutes increase with Neal out.

The Timberwolves are 8-point underdogs.

Wolves' LaVine would choose himself over LeBron in Dunk Contest

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/16/15) Fresh off winning the NBA's Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend, Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine was not shy in expressing confidence in his dunking ability.

During an interview with ESPN's Sportcenter after the contest, LaVine said he'd pick himself over LeBron James in a dunk competition.

"I never go against my own talent so I've got to say me," LaVine said.

LaVine became the first player since Dwight Howard in 2009 to score two perfect scores during the dunk contest. Although LaVine expressed admiration for LeBron's skills, he still believes he'd come out on top.

"I know LeBron's got some stuff that he ain't showed the world, either," LaVine said. "LeBron's one of the most freaky athletes of all time... But like I said, I'm a confident person."

Wolves rule Ricky Rubio out of Sunday's game at Detroit

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/8/15) The Timberwolves announced guard Ricky Rubio has been ruled out of Sunday’s game at Detroit.

Rubio is making his way back from a severe ankle injury and has not been cleared to play in any back-to-back games. He is expected to be available for Monday's game against the Hawks. Guard Zach LaVine should see his role increase Sunday.

The Timberwolves are 8-point underdogs to the Pistons.
