Preseason Outlook

Stojakovic announces retirement: Despite drawing interest from several teams during the offseason, veteran F Peja Stojakovic told ESPN on Monday that he is retiring from the NBA. Stojakovic, who was a free agent, helped Dallas to its first NBA title last year after averaging 7.1 points 1.7 rebounds during the playoffs. "When you start competing against your body more than you're preparing for the actual game," Stojakovic said, "it's a wakeup call." (Updated 12/19/2011)

Stojakovic, 34, spent 13 seasons in the league and was one of the most accurate shooters in NBA history. He drilled 45 percent of his shots from the field, including a stellar 40.1 percent from 3-point range, to finish with an average of 17 points per game. Stojakovic started his career with Sacramento before also playing with Indiana, New Orleans, Toronto and the Mavericks. He should be ignored in all 2011-12 Fantasy drafts. (Updated 12/19/2011).
