Suns formally sign center Tyson Chandler
|by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer|
|(7/9/15) The Suns announced Thursday they had reached a deal with defensive standout Tyson Chandler, one that is reportedly worth $52 million over four years.
Last season, while playing for the Mavericks, Chandler averaged 10.3 points and 11.5 rebounds in 75 games. The 14-year veteran has previously won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award and an NBA championship.
"Tyson Chandler will be a leader on and off the court," Suns president Lon Babby said. "His physical stature is matched by his immense presence as an individual of high character who is highly respected by the NBA community."

Report: Bucks to go hard after Tyson Chandler or Brook Lopez
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(6/12/15) The Bucks will target veteran centers Tyson Chandler and Brook Lopez in free agency, according to ESPN.
The team cleared almost $23 million in space by moving Ersan Ilyasova for the more cap-friendly contracts of Caron Butler and Shawne Williams. That move will free up space for a potential splash in free agency.
Jason Kidd is well-aware of the talents of Chandler and Lopez. He played alongside the former in Dallas and New York and coached the latter with the Nets.
Mavs' Tyson Chandler determined not to get swept by Rockets
|by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer|
|(4/26/15) Center Tyson Chandler and his Mavericks trail the Rockets 3-0 in their Western Conference Quarterfinals series, and the 14-year NBA veteran is determined not to get swept out of the first round of the plays, per the Dallas Morning News.|
"I don’t want to go down like this. We got to take it one game at a time, but I’m not going out like this," Chandler said. "It’s embarrassing. That makes for a long summer. And I don’t want to face that.”
|The Knicks asked Tyson Chandler to carry a heavy load over the last few years, and it finally caught up to him last season. Chandler appeared in just 55 games and his numbers went down in nearly every relevant category. Chandler averaged 8.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game, while shooting 59.3 percent from the field, his lowest mark since 2009-10. Life should get a little easier for Chandler following an offseason trade to Dallas, though he will once again be tasked with carrying a subpar defense on his back. The Mavericks may be able to limit his minutes a bit more than New York did, but Chandler should be more or less the same player he has been in recent years. He will likely be close to a double-double every night, and should be a decent starting center option, worth targeting in the middle rounds on Draft Day.
