Knicks' Samuel Dalembert, J.R. Smith contribute Sunday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(11/2/14) Knicks center Samuel Dalembert and guard J.R. Smith both managed to play more than 20 minutes in the team's 96-93 win over the Hornets Sunday.
Dalembert was limited to six minutes in the team's last game due to a calf issue but played 22 minutes Sunday, failing to score while missing both his shots but grabbing eight rebounds and adding one assist. Smith has been playing through a hip injury, and he managed seven points on 3 of 7 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes Sunday. The pair should continue to be available Tuesday against the Wizards.
|There are plenty of reasons not to draft Samuel Dalembert. He's kind of old. Kind of lazy. Kind of slow. But, he's on the Knicks now, and they might not have a choice but to give him minutes at center. Per 36 minutes, he was a double-double with two blocks last season. But in reality, he only played 20 minutes per game and couldn't factor enough in any one category to stay on your Fantasy team. He'll get more minutes and more touches in New York by default, and the triangle offense is very center friendly. But he's not skilled enough to make the most of this opportunity. He's worth drafting, but save him for a late-round flier in any format.
