Gasol goes for the triple: With Kobe Bryant out again on Wednesday against the Warriors, the rest of the Lakers continued to have to step their game up, and forward Pau Gasol did just that. Gasol showed off his passing ability against the Warriors overmatched front line, fishing out a team-high 11 assists, while also leading the team with 11 rebounds. Not content to just clean up the boards and get his teammates involved, Gasol also poured in 22 points of his own on 7 of 16 shooting, while going 8 of 8 from the free-throw line, as the Lakers took down the Warriors, 99-87. Fantasy Analysis
Gasol gets lost in the shuffle sometimes in Los Angeles, however nights like Wednesday are why no Fantasy owner has forgotten about his consistent greatness. Gasol continues to put up excellent overall numbers; over the last five games, he is averaging 18.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, as the Lakers have had to find new ways to get everyone involved. Gasol remains a must-start Fantasy option as the season winds down. (Updated 04/19/2012).

05/22/2012 00:28 Westbrook, Durant lead Thunder past Lakers, return to Western finals
Russell Westbrook scored 28 points, Kevin Durant added 25 points and 10 rebounds, and the Oklahoma City Thunder surged ahead in the second half to beat Los Angeles 106-90 in Game 5 on Monday night and eliminate the Lakers from the playoffs.
Pau Gasol is coming off another stellar season in Los Angeles, which saw him once again average a double-double (18.8 points 10.2 rebounds). He also chipped in with 3.3 assists per game and 1.5 blocks while shooting an impressive 53 percent from the field and a career-high 82.3 percent from the free-throw line. However, there are big changes expected in Los Angeles this season, as Phil Jackson and the triangle offense are officially retired and Mike Brown is in. While Brown made it perfectly clear that this is still Kobe Bryant's team, he is expected to try and run the offense more through Gasol and fellow 7-footer Andrew Bynum. That could actually mean even more touches for the Spaniard, who averaged 13.3 shot attempts a season ago. It could realistically take a few weeks for the Lakers to begin clicking since they are installing a new offense, although we don't expect Gasol's numbers to be affected by this. He has proved to be one of the most productive big men in the league over the past few seasons and the fact that is he also dual-eligible at forward, only adds to his value. Fantasy owners should consider the 31-year-old a No. 1 Fantasy center on Draft Day. (Updated 8/29/11)
