Murphy ineffective offensively: Lakers F Troy Murphy had a nice game on the boards on Thursday, snagging nine rebounds in just 24 minutes against Boston; however he struggled with his shot in the game, making just one of his five field goal attempts in the game to finish with two points. He also added an assist, a blocked shot and two steals in the Lakers 88-87 overtime victory. (Updated 02/09/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Murphy has not had a huge role off the bench for the Lakers this season, but has shown the ability to contribute in spurts when he receives playing time. That will likely only happen in blowouts, however, which obviously limits his appeal in Fantasy. Murphy is averaging 3.6 points with 3.7 rebounds thus far so continue to ignore him in the majority of leagues. (Updated 02/09/2012).
02/01/2012 01:13 Kobe-Bynum duo overwhelms Bobcats
Kobe Bryant scored 24 points, Andrew Bynum added 20, and the Los Angeles Lakers beat slumping Charlotte 106-73 Tuesday night, extending their home record to 11-2 and sending the Bobcats to their ninth consecutive defeat and 19th of the season.
01/23/2012 00:23 Pacers get road win over Lakers
Roy Hibbert scored eight of his 18 points in the fourth quarter playing with a broken nose, and six of his teammates also scored in double figures to help the Indiana Pacers beat the Los Angeles Lakers 98-96 on Sunday night.
Murphy is a very interesting case entering the 2011-12 season because his Fantasy value will depend very much upon where he lands. The 31-year-old Murphy started just four games last season as he battled injuries and bad situations. Murphy could land anywhere this season, except Boston, that much seems clear. The most important thing Fantasy owners should know about a guy who once averaged almost 11 rebounds per game over a two-year span with the Pacers is that he’s healthy, something that could not have been said last year. A healthy Murphy could be a rebounding machine, so Fantasy owners should treat him as a major sleeper. Fantasy owners should wait until very late in drafts to get him, but could be pleasantly surprised if they do. (Updated 8/23/11)
