Julius Randle ready to come off the bench behind Carlos Boozer
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/30/14) Lakers rookie forward Julius Randle, who was the seventh overall pick in this year's draft, told the Los Angeles Times that he's ready to come off the bench behind Carlos Boozer this season.

"He deserves what he gets because he's put in the time and he's been successful," Randle said. "We're both going to be on the floor, whoever starts or not; that's not really my focus or worry."

Byron Scott getting close to finalizing starting five
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/10/14) Lakers coach Byron Scott told the Los Angeles Daily News Wednesday he has penciled in four of the five spots for the team's starting lineup, with only the small forward spot left the fill.

Scott plans to start Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill together this season, with Wesley Johnson or Nick Young being considered for the small forward spot. That means rookie Julius Randle and newly acquired guard Jeremy Lin will come off the bench, and he is leaning toward bring Nick Young off the bench as well.

Lakers pick up Carlos Boozer through amnesty bid
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(7/17/14) The Lakers have submitted the highest bid for free agent forward Carlos Boozer, ESPN's Marc Stein reports Thursday. Boozer was amnestied by Chicago on Tuesday after averaging 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds last season. He also shot 45.6 percent from the field and 76.7 percent from the floor in 76 games.
Bulls use amnesty provision to release Carlos Boozer
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com
(7/15/14) In an expected move to clear his contract from their books, the Bulls waived Carlos Boozer using the amnesty provision. Boozer will now enter a blind bidding process during which teams with cap space can bid on his services starting at his minimum salary. If he clears waivers, Boozer will be a free agent.

Boozer averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Bulls last season but became redundant with the emergence of Taj Gibson and the free agency arrivals of Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic.

Reports: Carlos Boozer not returning to Bulls
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7/3/14) The Bulls are not expected to bring Carlos Boozer back for the 2014-15 season, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Though Boozer is owed $16.8 million for next season, multiple outlets report the Bulls are already preparing to move on from him. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Boozer is expected to be waived via the amnesty provision at some point soon, and Boozer's agents have already been informed.

ESPN.com also reports the Bulls could still attempt to work a sign-and-trade deal including Boozer, but they have found no takers so far. Boozer is entering the final year of a five-year, $75 million contract. If the Bulls do use the amnesty provision on him, any team with cap space could put in a bid for the final year of his services.

Boozer has been maligned for his defense, and has even lost playing time as a result. He averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in 2013-14, his lowest averages since he was a rookie.
