Caron Butler spacing floor for Thunder
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/7/14) Thunder forward Caron Butler showed his value in his second game with the team Thursday against the Suns, after scoring just two points in his debut.

Butler played 29 minutes in a 128-122 loss, and was on the floor for much of crunch time. He scored 14 points on 4 of 11 shooting, with all four of his field goals coming from three-point range. He also added one rebound and one assist in the loss.

Butler will likely be a role player for the Thunder, but it looks like the veteran has already earned Scott Brooks' trust. He is still averaging just 10.7 points per game in 36 appearances this season.

Caron Butler does nothing in first appearance
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/5/14) Thunder forward Caron Butler played 26 minutes in his team debut Tuesday against the 76ers, but failed to make much of an impact in a 125-92 win.

Butler's playing time was buoyed by the team's blowout win, but he didn't have much to do with the final score. He scored just two points on 1 of 4 shooting, while adding five rebounds, one block, one steal and one assists.

Butler was able to produce inconsistently in 34 appearances with the Bucks, and often had trouble staying healthy. He is averaging just 10.7 points per game for the season.

Caron Butler could start in place of Thabo Sefolosha
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com
(3/3/14) The newest member of the Thunder might play a large role right away, as The Oklahoman reported Monday that Caron Butler could end up in the starting lineup to replace the injured Thabo Sefolosha

Butler signed with the Thunder last week after reaching a buyout agreement with the Bucks. His decision couldn't have come at a better time, as the Thunder are down a starter in Sefolosha for four-to-six weeks due to a strained calf.

Butler averaged 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in 13 starts with Milwaukee this season.

Report: Caron Butler to sign with Thunder
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com
(2/28/14) After reaching a buyout agreement with Milwaukee, it appears free agent forward Caron Butler will finish the season in Oklahoma City, as Yahoo Sports reported Friday that he and the Thunder have reached an agreement.

Butler likely opted for the larger role with the Thunder over his other prospective choice, Miami -- where he'd likely be relegated to fewer minutes. The Heat seemed the safer bet given Butler's history with the team and close friendship with Dwyane Wade, but it looks like Butler went with the best opportunity to log meaningful minutes on a championship contender.

With the Bucks Butler averaged 11.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 24.1 minutes per game. It remains to be seen whether the Thunder will look to start Butler or opt to bring him off the bench to bolster its depth. This move comes at an opportune time for Oklahoma City, losers of three-straight home games, as Kendrick Perkins will likely miss the rest of the regular season.

Bucks, Caron Butler reach buyout agreement
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com
(2/27/14) Looking to shake free of the tanking Bucks, Caron Butler has been bought out by Milwaukee, Yahoo Sports reports. It's also reported that Miami and Oklahoma City are the frontrunners to land Butler for the remainder of the season.

He averaged 11.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 24.1 minutes per game for the Bucks. Butler's also dealt with an ankle issue throughout the season.
