Stoudemire finally makes return : As expected, Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire made his long-waited return to the court for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Saturday night. Stoudemire, who is on a 10-15 minutes restriction, finished with seven points in the 82-71 win. He went 3 of 8 from the field and added two rebounds to his stat line, while logging nine minutes off the bench. (Updated 5/12/13) |

Stoudemire was finally able to get back on the court Saturday night and played well all things considering. However, the true test will be to see how he feels Sunday. The 30-year-old continues to have a hard time staying on the court as he appeared in just 29 games this season due to his knee troubles and other minor issues. He did manage to put up a respectable 14.2 points, and five rebounds on 57 percent shooting from the field in those contests but his lack of court time continues to limit his value. While the days of Stoudemire being a high-end option may be coming to a close, he can still be considered a viable start in most formats when healthy. (Updated 5/12/13). |
| A lot has been said about how Amar'e Stoudemire disappointed last season, and that line of criticism is completely fair; he averaged almost eight fewer points per game than the season before while missing 19 games. Still, it is easy to get carried away with that criticism and cause you to undervalue him, as he was still one of the 20 best forwards in all of Fantasy during what was arguably his worst season as a professional. That just goes to show you how high expectations are for the soon-to-be 30-year-old. He is not getting any younger, but it would be hard for him to have a more frustrating season as far as injuries are concerned, so Fantasy owners should still consider him a high-end option, worth taking as a strong No. 2 option at forward.
