Anthony 'walking without pain': New York coach Mike D'Antoni said Friday that Knicks F Carmelo Anthony (groin) could begin practicing as early as next week, according to HOOPSWORLD.com. Anthony has been sidelined since Tuesday with a strained right groin and was expected to miss one to two weeks of playing time. "He's doing a lot better," D'Antoni said. "(He's) walking without pain." Antony has also been bothered by issues with his wrist and ankle this year. (Updated 02/10/2012)
Injury Report
Groin - Out until at least mid-February (Updated - 2/7/12)
Fantasy Analysis
Despite the encouraging news, it's still not assured that Antony will be able to return next week as the Knicks continue to be conservative with the star forward. He has now missed four games this season and will certainly be an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 8 (Feb. 13-19). Anthony remains New York's leading scorer and is averaging 22.3 points per game. Fantasy owners should continue to reserve him in all formats for now. (Updated 02/10/2012).

02/08/2012 21:45 Lin key again in Knicks' win over Wizards
Jeremy Lin had 23 points and a career-high 10 assists, and Tyson Chandler scored 25 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the New York Knicks to their third straight win, 107-93 over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
The sky is the limit for Anthony’s first full season at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks faithful will adore him and coach Mike D’Antoni will design an offense around him. Anthony is one of the NBA’s premier talents and he averaged 26.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 46 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range over 27 games with the Knicks after coming over from Denver. Imagine what he’ll be able to do with D’Antoni having an entire offseason to design the offense specifically tailored for Anthony’s strengths and weaknesses. The Knicks will continue to have an up-tempo offense and Anthony will have to share the scoring load with Amar’e Stoudemire. Still, the dynamic duo didn’t have much trouble doing that at the end of last year and the two want to win more than they want their name in the spotlight. In New York, it will be there already. Anthony has averaged 25 points and over six boards for his career, and could be verging on his best season in the NBA yet with the Knicks. He’s easily a top five Fantasy forward and a player to target in the first round of all Fantasy drafts. He revealed in late September that he underwent surgery on his knee and elbow to address lingering pain that he says has bothered him for the past seven years. Able to play in barnstorming games throughout the lockout following the procedures, he should be more than a safe pick in drafts. (Updated 9/26/11)
