Hinrich misses finale : Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich was out for Game 5 against Miami in the Eastern Conference semifinals Wednesday, as the Bulls season came to an end. Hinrich ultimately missed the final seven games of the postseason due to a calf injury that he just could not overcome. He averaged 11.3 points and 5.8 assists per game in the postseason, though he appeared in just four games. (Updated 5/16/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
Hinrich missed 22 games during the regular season due to a variety of issues, and was never able to . He averaged 7.7 points and 5.2 assists on 37.7 percent shooting from the field -- the lowest shooting percentage of his career -- during the regular season while filling in for Derrick Rose. However, he will likely be moved back into a reserve role, assuming Rose is healthy next year, which will severely limit his already limited Fantasy value. Hinrich will likely only be worth scooping up in the later rounds in deeper draft formats next fall. (Updated 5/16/13). |
| The Bulls added Kirk Hinrich after it was found out the team would be without All-NBA guard Derrick Rose until at least January and perhaps for the entire regular season in 2012-13. Hinrich provides the Bulls with a steady point guard presence, though he's nothing like the player he's replacing as starter. Hinrich spent last season in Atlanta and posted career-low numbers with 6.6 points, 2.8 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game over 25.8 minutes. That said, the Hawks were a bit of a disaster for Hinrich, who can still light it up from long range from time to time. With Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah around to catch his passes, we expect Hinrich's assist numbers to rise again this year. That said, the Bulls won't be able to wait for the time when they can replace him with Rose again. Hinrich's value is limited and the veteran is only worthy of a Fantasy pick in deeper leagues and later rounds. (Updated 8/22/12) |
