Pachulia wants to stay with Hawks : Center Zaza Pachulia, who will be an unrestricted free agent over the summer, said he wants to return to the Hawks next season, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Pachulia is still wearing a walking boot after undergoing surgery to repair his partially torn right Achilles. How can I not (want to be back), Pachulia said. I've been here eight years. I call Atlanta home. You guys know the relationship between me and fans. I would love to be back again. This is my third time being a free agent, and we all understand the business, but again, well see what July brings. (Updated 5/6/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
While Pachulia wants to return to the Hawks next season, the 7-footer is expected to garner a great deal of interest from many teams this summer. The 29-year-old appeared in 52 games, including 15 starts, and averaged 5.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 28.3 minutes. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Pachulia's recovery over the summer as well as where he winds up playing next season. Still, unless he ends up in a starting role, he likely won't have much Fantasy value heading into the 2013-14 campaign. (Updated 5/6/13). |
| After spending the last few years as merely a reserve, Pachulia finally got a chance to show what he could in a larger role last season. The 28-year-old was thrust into a starter role once Al Horford went down with a torn pectoral muscle and he did not disappoint. Pachulia averaged 8.7 points and 8.8 rebounds in 44 games as a starter last year and shot 51 percent from the field over that stretch. While that made him a solid No. 2 Fantasy center in most formats, the veteran from Georgia will likely be forced back into a reserve role with Horford now fully healthy. While he should average more than the 15 minutes per game that he did two seasons ago as Horford’s primary backup, Pachulia looks destined for another season of Fantasy irrelevancy. Consider him merely waiver-wire fodder heading into next season. (Updated 10/11/12) |
