Perkins quiet in Game 1 : Thunder center Kendrick Perkins was not much of a factor during Game 1 of Oklahoma City's first-round playoff series against the Rockets. Perkins finished with four points in the 120-91 win on 2 of 4 shooting from the field. He also added four rebounds, three steals and one block to his stat line. (Updated 4/22/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
As expected, Perkins wasn't much of a factor in most Fantasy leagues this season, but owners should be used to that buy now. The 28-year-old averaged just 4.2 points on the year -- his lowest scoring output since the 2004-05 campaign. Perkins hasn't held much Fantasy value in each of the last three seasons and we don't see that changing next year. (Updated 4/22/13). |
| Kendrick Perkins labeled his first half season with the Thunder back in 2011 a disappointment, which is exactly what we would call in his performance during the 2011-12 campaign. While he was finally able to keep himself healthy for most of the year, Perkins produced just 5.1 points a night in 65 games for the Thunder last year, while shooting 48.9 percent from the field -- his second lowest shooting percentage since his second year in the league. His rebounding totals also took a hit as he hauled in just 6.5 boards per game, which was his lowest rebounding output since the 2007-08 campaign. Still, with career averages of 6.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, this is what Fantasy owners should come to expect from the 27-year-old at this point. Consider Perkins a low-end No. 2 Fantasy center heading into the 2012-13 season, which would make for a pretty solid reserve option in most formats. However, since he is a decent source for blocks, field-goal percentage and did average 1.1 assists last year, his value will be slightly higher in category-based formats. (Updated 8/22/12) |
