Ridnour can't find rhythm : Minnesota guard Luke Ridnour finds himself in a rut after scoring 22 points last Saturday. Since then he's scored a combined 15 points over three games. Ridnour shot 2 for 8 form the field on Friday night versus the Mavericks, missing all three of his 3-pointers. He did chip in six rebounds and five assists in his 26 minutes of action. Fantasy Analysis
Ridnour has had a nice season up to this point, but recently finds himself struggling. Besides that 22-point effort last week, Ridnour has not made it into double digits in terms of scoring. He's averaging 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game over his last five contests. Despite starting for Minnesota, Ridnour is just a low-end guard option in deeper Fantasy formats. 02/03/2012 22:15 Wolves overcome Morrow's 42, Nets
Luke Ridnour made the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 1:23 left, Nikola Pekovic scored a career-high 27 points, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the New Jersey Nets 108-105 on Friday night.
Ridnour experienced a resurgent campaign in his first season with the Timberwolves and saw a ton of playing time with Jonny Flynn missing the beginning of the season. He averaged a career-high 11.8 points and his 5.4 assists per contest were his highest since 2005-06. He also chipped in with 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting a healthy 46.8 percent from the field. One of the big differences in his game was his 3-point shooting. He set a new career mark with 81 3-pointers made and shot 44 percent from beyond the arc. While Flynn was shipped to Houston in the offseason, former first-round pick Ricky Rubio is coming over from Spain to compete for the starting point guard job. The Timberwolves would prefer Rubio be the starter over Ridnour, which will likely limit his Fantasy value. With a serious dropoff in production expected in 2011-12, consider Ridnour as a low-end Fantasy guard on Draft Day. But if the 30-year-old can hold onto his starting job, he will be worth a look in the later rounds. (Updated 8/29/11)
