Fantasy Analysis
Ridnour enjoyed a solid season with the Wolves this year prior to the injury, and had been excellent when Ricky Rubio went down with an injury. He averaged 12.1 points and 4.8 assists per game in 33.0 minutes, while shooting 44.0 percent from the field in 53 games this year. Ridnour will likely return to the Timberwolves next season, where he will continue to share time with Rubio. He has limited Fantasy value with Rubio around, so target him in the late rounds on Draft Day. (Updated 04/22/2012).
04/14/2012 22:41 Durant, Westbrook score 78 in win
Kevin Durant scored 43 points and Russell Westbrook had 35 and eight assists to keep the Oklahoma City Thunder atop the Western Conference with a 115-110 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night.
04/12/2012 22:24 Griffin leads Clippers over Wolves
Blake Griffin had 19 points and 13 rebounds and Caron Butler scored 17 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 95-82 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.
04/12/2012 18:01 Timberwolves All-Star Love out vs. Clippers with concussion
Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Love has been cleared to return to Minnesota, but it is uncertain when his concussion will allow him to return to the court. Love was ruled out of the game Thursday night against the Clippers.
04/11/2012 23:51 Love leaves early in Wolves loss
Ty Lawson scored 24 points, including four free throws in the final 17.6 seconds, to help the Denver Nuggets hold on for a 113-107 win Wednesday night over a Minnesota Timberwolves squad that was missing Kevin Love after the All-Star forward went out with a mild concussion in the first quarter.
04/09/2012 23:49 Timberwolves drop sixth straight
Shannon Brown had 17 points and seven rebounds and the Phoenix Suns' reserves outscored Minnesota's 66-27 in a 114-90 victory over the Timberwolves on Monday night.
Ridnour experienced a resurgent campaign in his first season with the Timberwolves and saw a ton of playing time with Jonny Flynn missing the beginning of the season. He averaged a career-high 11.8 points and his 5.4 assists per contest were his highest since 2005-06. He also chipped in with 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting a healthy 46.8 percent from the field. One of the big differences in his game was his 3-point shooting. He set a new career mark with 81 3-pointers made and shot 44 percent from beyond the arc. While Flynn was shipped to Houston in the offseason, former first-round pick Ricky Rubio is coming over from Spain to compete for the starting point guard job. The Timberwolves would prefer Rubio be the starter over Ridnour, which will likely limit his Fantasy value. With a serious dropoff in production expected in 2011-12, consider Ridnour as a low-end Fantasy guard on Draft Day. But if the 30-year-old can hold onto his starting job, he will be worth a look in the later rounds. (Updated 8/29/11)
