Devin Harris, J.J. Barea miss practice for Mavericks
|by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com|
|(3/17/15) The Mavericks appear to have been hit by a bug. Per Mavs.com's Earl Sneed, coachRick Carlisle told the media that J.J. Barea and Devin Harris both missed practice on Tuesday.
Barea is suffering from a fever, and Harris' ailment was listed as an illness.
Carlisle also had no update on Al-Farouq Aminu, who is suffering from a left shoulder injury.
The Mavs host the Magic on Wednesday.
|Though he missed the first half of the year recovering from injury, Devin Harris showed some of the spark that made him a fun player with Dallas years ago. He's back to full health now, and though he might still come off the bench for Dallas, he'll likely end up with more minutes per game than newcomer Raymond Felton. His situation could improve if he outplays Felton significantly, so while currently he's only worth a late-round flier, don't be surprised if Harris improves his standing throughout the season. He only received 20 minutes per game last season as he was eased back in, but per 36 minutes he averaged 13.9 points, 7.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game. He might very well be the Mavericks' best passer this season, so don't let Harris slip under the radar on Draft Day.
