Harris needs another injection : Hawks guard Devin Harris said he will go to New York to receive another platelet-rich injection on the big toe on his left foot, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Harris, who will be an unrestricted free agent over the summer, said he would be open to re-signing with Atlanta next year. “I think we had a good team,” Harris said. “I think we proved a lot of people wrong on how we could play together, especially with guys on the last year of contracts. I thought the guys fit together really well. I really enjoyed it. I could see myself coming back, but you never know what happens in free agency."

| Fantasy Analysis |
Harris was bothered by foot and toe issues for much of the season, which is one of the reasons why he was limited to just 58 games. He averaged 9.9 points and 3.4 assists on the year -- his lowest output in both categories since the 2005-06 campaign -- while being used mostly in a reserve role. Harris did play well down the stretch, averaging 15 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals over his last six games -- all starts -- proving the 30-year-old can still produce at a decent level when he is healthy and sees starter minutes. Keep an eye on where the veteran lands this summer. While the days of Harris being a high-end option may be over, he could still wind up being a steady Fantasy producer if he lands in the right situation next year.

| After spending the last year and a half with the Jazz, Harris was shipped off to the Hawks this summer in exchange for Marvin Williams. That could be a good thing for the 29-year-old as he really struggled during his first full year in Utah. Harris averaged just 11.3 points, 5.0 assists and 1.7 rebounds --- his lowest output in all three categories since the 2006-07 campaign. He actually shot 45 percent from the field but averaged just 8.6 shot attempts per contest as Utah ran its offense through the post. Now he gets a chance for a fresh start with the Hawks, but could end up coming off the bench with Jeff Teague already in place. The Hawks will likely let Harris and Teague battle it out all training camp to see who will emerge as the starter. Obviously If Harris ends up losing his starting job, his value would be in line to take a hit. However, he could still wind up seeing close to 30 minutes per game off the bench, which would likely allow him to put up numbers similar to last year. Whether he winds up starting or not, we would expect Harris to be more assertive on the offense end of the court which should help get him back into the mid-teens in scoring. Combine that with 5-6 assists and a couple of rebounds, and Harris makes for a nice low-end No. 2 Fantasy guard option. (Updated 10/11/12) |
