Celtics F Bass cryptic after question about playing time
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(12/29/14) Celtics power forward Brandon Bass isn't exactly turning cartwheels over his decreased playing time since the Rajon Rondo trade to Dallas. But he's also not expressing his dissatisfaction. In fact, it's difficult to decipher what he meant in responding to a question about it.
Bass is averaging just 10.5 minutes per game since Brandon Wright, Jameer Nelson and Jae Crowder were added to the rotation. The playing time provided Wright has particularly affected that of Bass.
"It's the perception of things," Bass told the Boston Herald. "You see one thing, and it's not really that." Asked what he meant by "perception," he added, "If I wanted to tell you, then I would have told you. ... If I live like a man under a rock, y'all would know about it, and I would express myself in a way like a man who lived under a rock. But since I don't live like that, I know better."

|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(11/19/14) Celtics power forward Brandon Bass led his team in scoring Wednesday, racking up a season-high 23 points on 9 of 13 shooting in Boston's 101-90 win in Philadelphia.
Bass topped 25 minutes for the first time this season in Wednesday's win, playing 32 minutes while tallying six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. "Brandon Bass was our most physical interior player in the first half," coach Brad Stevens said after the game. "I thought everybody matched it in the second half."
The win ended a three-game losing streak for the Celtics. They'll look to build off Wednesday's success when the face a tougher test in Memphis Friday.
Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace could earn minutes at PF
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(9/30/14) Celtics head coach Brad Stevens indicated that Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace could earn some minutes at power forward to start the season, according to the MetroWest Daily News on Tuesday. The move would likely cut into the playing time of Jared Sullinger and Brandon Bass.
Green appeared in all 82 games last season for the Celtics, averaging 16.9 points, 4.6 boards and 1.7 assists per outing. Wallace was limited to 58 games in 2013-14 and averaged only 5.1 points in 24.4 minutes per game.
Brandon Bass makes an impact in big win
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(3/19/14) Celtics forward Brandon Bass snapped a five-game single-digit scoring streak Wednesday, in a 101-96 win over the Heat.
Bass played a big role in the win, playing 30 minutes for just the third time all month. He scored 18 points on 8 of 12 shooting, while adding four rebounds and a steal in the win.
Bass has remained a consistent part of the Celtics plans, but has seen his production fall off since the start of March. He is averaging 9.7 points per game in March, compared to 10.8 for the season.
|Brandon Bass was as dependable as ever for the Celtics last season, appearing in all 82 games and ranking second on the team in minutes played. He was also steady for Fantasy owners, averaging 11.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while flirting with relevance as his role shifted throughout the season. Bass will likely fill a similar role for the Celtics this season, though his expiring contract makes him a prime trade candidate down the road. He is a late-round Fantasy option in most formats on Draft Day.
