Ellis has career night in loss: The Warriors got a big performance from Monta Ellis on Tuesday night against the Thunder. The shooting guard, who entered the game with a bit of a wrist injury but played through, went off for a career-high 48 points, including three huge ones to go ahead on an and-one late in the game. The Thunder walked away victorious, but Ellis still had a huge night. Ellis shot an efficient 18 of 29 from the field with three 3-pointers for his 48 points. He grabbed seven rebounds and added two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. (Updated 02/08/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Ellis went just 7 for 17 for 18 points in his last game on Saturday and the Warriors lost to the Kings. He put the team on his back on Tuesday and the Warriors almost took down one of the Western Conference's best teams. Ellis might put up some big numbers going forward if he gets on a roll. He's already averaging over 23 points per game over his last five. Ellis should be starting in all Fantasy formats right now as he's playing as well as he has all year. (Updated 02/08/2012).

01/28/2012 01:05 Durant, Thunder roll over Warriors
Kevin Durant had 37 points and 14 rebounds, Russell Westbrook dazzled with 28 points and 11 assists and the NBA-leading Oklahoma City Thunder started a critical road stretch with a 120-109 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
Monta Ellis has been one of the better scorers in the NBA over the past two season. Relied upon heavily in the team's offense under Don Nelson and Keith Smart, he has averaged over 20 shots per game in that span. With a new coach in town this season, there is some uncertainty as to whether or not that will continue. Fantasy owners should also keep in mind that, along with the possibility the Warriors might reel in their running game some under new coach Mark Jackson, the team also drafted a shooting guard (Klay Thompson) with the 11th overall pick in the draft. Ellis should be able to overcome both of these potentially negative factors, but Fantasy owners should account for a possible slight decline in his touches this year. Regardless, his premium scoring, solid assist and steals production and excellent 3-point shooting should have him going late in Round One or early in Round Two in any format. (Updated 8/28/11)
