New diet benefits Maxiell: The Detroit Free Press reports Pistons forward Jason Maxiell credits his turnaround in 2011-12 to eating healthy and being in better shape coming into training camp. Coach Lawrence Frank, who calls Maxiell "one our most consistent players all season," agrees. "It just talks about his commitment," Frank said. "Max has made as much progress as any player from the start of training camp until now. It's the work he's put in, not just in the off-season, but from the time training camp started." Fantasy Analysis
Maxiell has jumped into the starting lineup for Detroit and his numbers are starting to improve. He had 10 points on Saturday against the Hornets and 12 rebounds the previous night against Milwaukee. "The minutes are the minutes," Maxiell said. "No matter when they come -- starting or off the bench -- I have to provide energy, and that's what I'm trying to do." Maxiell is far from being a must-start Fantasy option, but he can provide some help as a low-end option in deep formats. (Updated 02/08/2012).
