Robinson closes postseason strong: After being held scoreless in Game 4, Bulls guard Nate Robinson bounced back in Wednesday's elimination game against the Heat. Unfortunately, despite scoring 21 points on 6 of 15 shooting, Robinson's season came to a close in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Robinson added six rebounds and five rebounds, while turning the ball over four times in 47 minutes, in a 94-91 loss. He finished the postseason averaging 16.3 points per game in 12 contests. | Fantasy Analysis |
Robinson had his finest regular season since 2008-09, averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists in just 25.4 minutes per game. Robinson has clearly grown as a player, and he enters free agency at a good time. Coming off a successful year in the Bulls' elite defense will help his value on the market as well. Robinson is unlikely to get a starting role, but an increase in minutes would not be terribly surprising coming off his postseason successes. Robinson should be worth targeting in the mid-to-late rounds on Draft Day in most Fantasy formats. (Updated 5/16/13). |
| Nate Robinson enters his eighth season in the league with his fifth different team, as he signed a one-year contract with the Bulls in the offseason, where he’ll look to give Chicago a spark on offense, especially with Derrick Rose out for a significant portion of the first half of the season. The Bulls will likely depend on Robinson to backup Kirk Hinrich at shooting guard heading into this season. Robinson only started nine games last season for Golden State but played 23.4 minutes per game, which is the most since his 2008-2009 season with the Knicks. Robinson shot 42.4 percent from the field and averaged 11.2 points per game. He finished his 2011-2012 campaign with two rebounds, 1.2 steals and a career-best 4.5 assists per contest while playing a good amount of that season in Golden State at point guard. He may have a hard time adjusting to his new team, since his style of play does not match Tom Thibodeau’s system. Robinson will likely provide his usual double-digit scoring off the bench, but is not considered a starting Fantasy option on Draft Day. (Updated 10/14/12) |
