Nuggets sitting four in preseason opener
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(10/6/14) The Nuggets enter training camp with a number of players working their way back from injuries, and will be shorthanded for the start of preseason action.
The Denver Post reports the Nuggets will sit Danilo Gallinari (knee), JaVale McGee (leg), Nate Robinson (knee) and JJ Hickson (knee) for Monday's preseason opener against the Lakers. The players are all in various stages of their recoveries, with Galinari and McGee likely to be ready for the start of the season, while Hickson is targeting a January return. It is not clear whether Robinson will be ready by the start of the regular season.
Nuggets' Nate Robinson would like to stay put in Denver
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(9/30/14) Nate Robinson told the Denver Post on Monday that he would like to finish out his career with the Nuggets. Robinson, who suffered a torn ACL in January, is entering the final year of his two-year, $4.1 million contract. He averaged 10.4 points, 2.5 assists and 1.8 rebounds over 44 games before the injury last season.
"I'm too old to be moving around too much more," Robinson said. "I don't know if I have too many more years doing that. For me, I would love to stay here. I've taken a liking to Denver, it's been fun. The city is great, the fans are great and this team is awesome. I would love to be here if they would love to have me."
Nate Robinson undergoes surgery to repair torn ACL
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(1/31/14) Nuggets guard Nate Robinson underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, the Denver Post reports.
The injury was initially called a sprained ACL but further evaluation Friday necessitated the surgery. He finishes the season with 10.4 points and 2.5 assists per game with a 42.8 shooting percentage over 44 games played.
Nate Robinson could have torn ACL
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(1/31/14) Word out of Denver is that Nuggets guard Nate Robinson has a torn ACL in his left knee but is going for a second opinion, the New York Daily News reports.
Robinson was diagnosed with a sprained ACL Thursday after suffering the injury Wednesday. Any type of surgery would knock him out for the remainder of the season. Robinson has averaged 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in 44 games played.
|The Nuggets were battered with injuries last season and will likely be without some of their role players at the start of 2014-15. Nate Robinson is candidate to miss the start of the season. After joining the Nuggets last summer, Robinson played 44 games before his season ended on Jan. 29 with a torn left ACL. The season will start in late October, so he'll be roughly nine months removed from the procedure. His chances of returning by the start of this season aren't all that great, so you'll have to monitor his status before the opener. Still, Robinson averaged 10.4 points and 2.5 assists per game with a 42.8 shooting percentage before the injury, which is a dropoff from his numbers in 2012-13 with the Bulls. We expect him to be eased back into game action, so he could be in for another dropoff in scoring. Ignore him in most formats come Draft Day.
