Villanueva drops 18 off the bench: Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva turned in another solid performance off the bench in Saturday's contest against the Bobcats. Villanueva went 7 of 13 shooting from the field, including 4 of 7 from downtown. He finished with a team-high 18 points, four rebounds and a steal in a 92-91 victory.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Villanueva had been held to single-digit scoring in each of the last five games played before his 18-point performance Saturday night. He is still averaging 5.5 points over his last six games and is way too inconsistent for Fantasy owners to trust at this point. Fantasy owners should consider Villanueva a low-end option in deeper formats down the final stretch of the season.

| Charlie Villanueva spent his offseason getting himself into optimum shape as he's been a constant injury risk during his Detroit tenure. Villanueva changed his training routine and is entering the season in the best shape of his career as he attempts to vye for minutes in the rotation. Still, Villanueva has a long road to Fantasy respectability after playing in just 13 games last season and averaging 7.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 3-pointers per game over 13.8 minutes. Until he proves himself during the season, Villanueva will only be viable in the deepest of Fantasy formats. (Updated 8/28/12) |
