Williams contributes in return : Atlanta forward Marvin Williams was back on the court on Friday night for the Hawks after missing five games with a nagging hip injury. He shot 5 for 8 from the field, going 1 for 2 from downtown, and converting 6 of his 7 freebies at the charity stripe. "I think in the first half my timing was really off," Williams said. "I didn't think my timing was going to be off that bad. Coach gave me a chance in the second half to kind of get it together, and I think I did that." Williams finished the game with 11 points and six boards in his 26 minutes off the bench. He also blocked one shot in Atlanta's 93-84 win. (Updated 03/23/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Williams seemed to do well in his role off the bench on Friday. It's unclear if he'll remain the team's sixth man or if he'll be inserted back into the starting lineup. Fantasy owners should keep tabs on Williams to make sure he's 100 percent and he doesn't end up missing more time because of his hip. When healthy, Williams should be considered a low-end forward option. (Updated 03/23/2012).
05/11/2012 18:32 NBA: Foul call incorrect late in decisive BOS-ATL game
The NBA says a foul against Boston with 3.1 seconds left in Atlanta's season-ending loss on Thursday should have been called sooner, which would have given the Hawks a free throw instead of just the ball out of bounds.
05/11/2012 02:41 Hawks-Celtics Game 6: Hawks continue their stay in purgatory
The Atlanta Hawks lost Game 6 Thursday to the Celtics. Where will they go from here? Never improving, never declining, the Hawks will likely remain an Eastern Conference prop stuck in purgatory.
05/10/2012 22:58 Celtics hang on, close out Hawks in six
Kevin Garnett had 28 points and 14 rebounds, hitting a jumper to give Boston the lead with 31 seconds left in Game 6 on Thursday night, and the Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks 83-80 to win their first-round playoff series and advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals for the fifth straight year.
Williams turned in another underwhelming season during the 2011-12 campaign. The former University of North Carolina standout was limited to just 65 games as he dealt with a flurry of minor injuries last year. He was once again used more as a role player than a go-to-guy, which limited his production to a mediocre 10-5-1 stat line. With the Hawks likely to bring back the same base roster next year, owners should expect more of the same from Williams. He will likely average somewhere in low double figures with around five rebounds per contest while seeing around 30 minutes a night. Once again owners should consider him a quality reserve option worthy of taking with a late-round pick in most formats. While Williams may never end up having the "breakout" year many have been waiting for, his production has been consistent enough to know what to expect from Williams on a regular basis.
