Report: Celtics to waive Will Bynum, if they can't work out a trade
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(10/21/14) The Celtics continue to work with the agent for Will Bynum on a trade involving the veteran guard, according to the Boston Herald.
“We’re trying to see if there is something we can do,” agent Mark Bartelstein said.
Bynum is away from the team as he is recovering from a strained hamstring. He has not made a preseason appearance and the Celtics will likely waive Bynum if they can't work out a trade.
"It’s a tough time of year to make a trade," a league source said. "Teams are still trying to get used to their rosters, see what they have. Most likely they have to waive him."

Report: Celtics sending C Anthony to Pistons for PG Bynum
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(10/17/14) The Celtics are on the verge of trading veteran center Joel Anthony to the Pistons in exchange for point guard Will Bynum, according to ESPN.
Anthony is coming off his least productive season. He averaged 0.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in less than six minutes per game with Miami and Boston last year. Bynum, who has played for Detroit since 2008, averaged 8.7 points and 3.9 assists in 2013-14 while playing 19 minutes per game.
Will Bynum opts to shut it down with foot injury
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(4/11/14) With just three games left on the schedule, Pistons guard Will Bynum has elected to shut himself down for the rest of the season, the Detroit Free Press reports Friday.
Bynum is dealing with bone spurs in his foot and will end up missing the team's final seven games as a result. He finishes the season averaging 8.7 points and 3.9 assists per game in 56 appearances.
|Will Bynum has served capably as the Pistons' backup point guard for the last few years, but is likely looking at a much-diminished role after the signing of D.J. Augustin this offseason. Bynum was never much more than a low-end Fantasy contributor, averaging just 8.7 points and 3.9 assists in 56 games a year ago. Given his limited production and questionable role, Bynum can be ignored in all Fantasy formats on Draft Day.
